i had traps set up at the museum yesterday since we can't have mice around artefacts. we caught one little mouse so far. i feel so bad though. i used to have pet mice so i really don't want to hurt them. is there a way i can find them and catch them with out killing them.

Just take them to a field and let them go. No need to kill them.

Try asking the pet shop if there are such things as live traps for mice. Then give them to someone you know to drive about 10 miles away, and release them, and bring the trap back home, so you can use them again.

yes, I also think this should do it. They have this traps that look like mini cages and you set it up with a bait. Then when they take the bait there is a latch that will close the door down and the mice gets trapped inside the mini cage. You can then go and let them out as suggested above.

Bring a cat. Ha ha I have a cat and she always kill two cackroaches and then, she also can kill a mouse here at home. Really. A cat is so effective. At least, you didn't kill them.

You can buy humane traps that cage them and you can release them out in the woods somewhere. If you release them near your home, they will just invade your home. They are pests and will chew on wiring and chew through walls. We had a mouse chew through the wires on our refrigerator and also chewed through the water tubing for the ice maker. We had to get that fixed when we lived at our other home. We don't have any mice here now. We put traps out to kill them. I hate to kill them too because they are cute, but they do a lot of damage.
