trying to be a wise shopper by buying branded items on sale

After I had purchased a pair of branded shoes on sale last year, I have decided to now start buying only branded shoes which are on sale. You see the pair I bought last year is still amazingly intact and sturdy. I bought it at 40% off its regular price so I was able to save a lot. The price was just similar to any regular shoes that are not branded and which get broken after a week or two. Incidentally, for the 4th time this school year our kid came home with broken shoes. I decided to buy her a pair of branded shoes on sale. We were able to get one for half its original price. It is pure leather, so I find it quite amazing how much savings I had on that purchase. From now on, it will be branded footwear for me, but only if they are on sale.

I do the same thing. I don't mind buying skirt, blouses and other clothes from cheap store. However, when it comes to footwear I always prefer to buy the branded one on sale. I bought two pairs last December when my favorite brand was on sale.

I'm also a huge fan on sale items! But when it comes to footwear, my husband and I don't mind if we have to pay full price as long as it is very comfortable and sturdy and will give the proper support for our backs. I only have a couple of shoes because some of them are quite pricey. And since they're branded, surprisingly most of them are going on its 3rd year with me. It's really a good investment. Judging by their condition, they're still good for the rest of the year. Too bad I'm the only one in the family who have this size, otherwise, I can share some of them so I will have some space in my closet for new shoes! But then, I can always donate the ones that I cannot use anymore or those that I just got tired of using.

What is your size Raine? I am sure there are many here who are willing to receive such donations.

I found a brand of walking shoes that I really like. I bought my first pair at a thrift store. They were almost brand new. They are 1/2 size too big but I just wear two pairs of socks and that works. The retail price is between $50 - $70 and although I really like these top quality shoes and I need good supporting shoes, that price is just way too steep for me. I found a pair of this brand at a discount store for $25 in my shoe size. Then my daughter found another pair in my exact shoe size at a thrift store. They are like new. So, by a little looking around, I have three pairs of shoes of my favorite brand that I did not pay full price. My feet are so happy!!!

Wow ZoeJoy! That is really a good buy. In my place we also have surplus stores but most of the shoes are quite old already. They are very cheap and still sturdy but already old. It is also good to buy brand new branded shoes which are on sale.
