The love or the mountains ??

I have been going through this dilemma for the past couple of days. I have been in a long distance relationship with my girlfriend for the past one year. And finally we will meet in the first week of February. And she will stay in the same city as me for the next six months. However, my friends are planning to go for a trekking trip to Ladakh or Assam. And we are planning to go in the first week of March.
So I am not able to decide on what to do? Will it be appropriate if I leave her for one more week just after one month of our re union? What would you have done if you were at my place??

Bring your love in the mountains.. she will enjoy it. you will hit, love and mountains at the same time.
this is a good way to know her better. if she rants or if she's "cool".

Hi Mavic.
Unfortunately that would be even troublesome I guess. We are not sure if we would have proper sanitation at the places where we halt. And we do a lot of trekking in a day. So I am not sure if she would be able to do it. I don't want others to suffer because of me. Let us see how things turn out after I talk to her.

How serious is this relationship? You have a busy life doing the kind f9o things that single people enjoy. Of course I should not assume that this is a really serious relationship except that it has existed for a long time. Perhaps this visit will put it to the test and you will emerge knowing what you both expect from the relationship.

Hi combedaleRoad.
Well it is difficult to actually say how serious the relationship is. We definitely love each other very much and I have no doubts in my mind and neither does she have one. Though we know each other since our childhood days and we have been in relationship for more than two years now. But we have not spent time face to face that much as we both had responsibilities of building our career and we lived in different cities.

Hi,
You have to take care of your relations with the lover and the friends. You may missed your girlfriend just for a week. She is living in your city for six months. Then you can spend time with your girlfriend. Thus you can make your friends also happy and spend time time happily.

Well you are right. In fact I did end up in the city itself spending more time with her. I would have loved to go to mountains though. But then I thought of going there in the month of June with my girlfriend. Anyways thanks for your response and have a nice day ...

If the relationship were important to me and we had spent no time together..it would be about her for 6 months. For me..the trekking trip will always be there but not those few moments that equal 6 months. 6 months is nothing in the big scheme of things and if you have the chance to spend those moments with someone that completes you then no amount of trekking can equal that. No amount of anything might equal that.

You still have one entire month of valentines with you dear Shames
and during this small time you make make the best of the time you ever had spent with your girlfriend. And then, if you just want to continue on with this, you can call off the Trekking trip to one place - I assume they would return before moving on to the other venue

Well I forgot to mention one more thing. That in those six months I will be away for
two months to do my summer internship. And if I go for trekking I will do it full. I dont think I can come back in the middle. The only thing to cherish now is what you mentioned. The valentines week.

Well I am very thankful for your concern but this is not a poll type question. If you ask people for A or B and people reply only by posting A or B then it becomes a poll type question. It might look like one but if you actually read the whole discussion then you will realize that this discussion is of subjective nature which requires people to consider a lot of things before they post their reply.
