I was told making sushi at home is cheapier, I have been wanting to learn it. My sister made her own yesterday. I calculated the cost, and boy was it not cheapier. The rice was $15.00, fish $20, sea weed $5.00, veggies instead $5 (depending on what you get), then the time you put into it. It costs about $13.00 for about 8 rolls at the local sushi restuarent, and less hassle.

Wow, that doesn't sound cheaper at all, yep. The same way with making your own pizza sometimes. By the time you have al the ingredients bought and all you could have gotten a frozen pizza for just $1. at the dollar store. Of course I mean if you buy just the crust there on the shelf (like I have before), then buy tomato sauce there, then the cheese and toppings like mushrooms or whatever else. Not to mention use of olive oil. Ha. It does add up.

Maybe it's cheaper if you plan to buy in bulk, make it in bulk and save it but otherwise that isn't cheap at all. I've not had sushi in such a long time. My favorite place to get it also has a delicious teriyaki with mixed vegetable plate.
