I notice in small age few child cant sleep without their blanket or tarry bear. My hubby's cousin elder brother's daughter was crying last night because her mother is forget to bring the blanket with her. The daughter cant sleep full night because she needs both own blanket and tarry bear. Recently I read a discussion where the person is saying he is 60 years of age but still cover his own blanket. Do you have such habit and if yes then you carry in traveling also.

No, I don't have such habit and I don't carry a blanket wherever I go. I'm fine sleeping with any blanket. But my teenage son still needs his little pillow when he sleeps. I already told him to get rid of it but he just won't let go.

True, some persons like me cant sleep without blanket and if it is my own, perhaps comfort is better. But it is not possible to carry these things in journey. In the same time, i think mostly will also be agree with me that, they can sleep better in their own bed. Its related to habit i guess.

On a long haul plane ride that is overnight each passenger is provided with a small pillow and a warm blanket. My daughter and my son like to carry a toy with them from home on that sort of trip. When we traveled to Cornwall in my car we took some of our own blankets. On a trip by plane or train overseas I am limited to what I can carry. My daughter can manage a tiny backpack. My son is in a wheelchair and he can't carry any luggage. Last night my daughter took her teddy bear to bed.

My elder son loves his blanket starting from the time when he was very young. Even though the white blanket is worn out, he still loves to use it when sleeping. It is a habit developed at a young age. He is typical in our family.

That's popularly called "security blanket" and that's normal for kids. They feel safer when they have something familiar from home. Commonly it's always th blanket but some kids carry their old toys too. I do not think it is usual for an adult though. I personally do not carry around my blanket wherever I go. I travel light.

Yes, I very much agree with you. Some would carry their pillows around, maybe it's because of the smell.

Hi surekha No i dont have any such habits. But yes i have seen some people like this. They also sleep only on one side of the bed due to their habit They cannot sleep on the other side. Some children have this habit of holding the teddy bear while sleeping too. I find it funny.

Hi surekharathi, my husband's fourth sister's son had such habit. I noticed this when they visited us during his childhood. I met them the first time after my marriage. She brought along her 3 year old son his own small pillow and blanket. She returned me the kid blanket and pillow while I was preparing the guest room bed. The kid would throw tantrum if sleeping without his own sleeping stuffs. It's quite inconvenient to bring these stuffs along when having vacation. Lucky that he was able to shake away such undesirable habit when he was in primary two, with the help of his mom gradually Happy posting

I think I had a habit of carrying around a blanket when I was a small child. I don't remember it but that's what my mother tells me. I remember when my cousin was younger, she would always carry around her blanket. It had horses on it as a pattern and she would always ask for it when she didn't have it. It was very sweet but she doesn't carry it around anymore. I think that some people cut out a little of the fabric to carry it around with them.

hahah, how i can relate myself to something that you are telling here. Yes, I am a person who cannot sleep without my blanket on me. It just feels like home for me to sleep on my own blankets. I never get sleep if I am not using my own blankets. Yes, I do carry my own blankets even while travelling for long too. I take extra care while travelling because, first of all in new places I won't get sleep easily, at the same time, I'm always in an impression that every other blanket in this world is not clean other than mine. I know it is not true, but I don't even feel like sitting on other's blankets. I think I have grown with such an habit and that is what has made me like this.
