i can't remember anything about my dream tonight

i don't know why i woke up at 3 am, thought i was dreaming about something before finally i woke up. but when i try to think back about my dream.i can't remember anything about it. however, i believe that i am dreaming about something before i woke up. have you ever experienced like this?

I have experienced the same thing, so many times.
Most of the time I cannot remember what I dreamed as I woke up.
While there are times that I dream of a very clear one that I feel like it's happening in real.
And the moment I wake up- still I can remember every detail of it.

do you guess,what is the causes from this?why we can't remember every detail from our dream?

Yeah you must wake up just in the middle of the dream and quickly make notes about it if you want to keep it in mind. Also I recommend you to read after lucid dreaming for more info.
