I have always used OSs from Microsoft but have heard my friends brag about how Mac OS is better than Windows. I have always felt that based on utility Windows/XP is better than Mac. What do you think?

The truth as sad as it may be Mac OS is better than Microsoft's Windows. The reason why Mac is better is because it's the most powerful and stable operating system out there. Apple's Mac is mostly used by companies, video editors and music studios which cannot afford to lose work because their OS crashed. The other thing is that you can't install Apple's Mac OS on just any computer, you would first have to buy a I-Mac which could cost you over $1500 dollar. The reason why most people us Microsoft's Windows OS is because it very cheap and I mean really cheap compared Apples computers. You can use Windows with almost any hardware, you don't have to go to your nearest Microsoft store to upgrade it like Apple's I-Mac. If your friends say that they are running Mac OS and they don't have an Apple computer then there lying to you.

Yes you can but there is the compatibility issue which means your computer's hardware has to be as close as possible to an Apples computer specs to run Mac OS X. You're correct there is no point in installing it unless you do a lot of music and video editing.

The original Mac OS was indeed better as was Mac architecture, however modern Mac OS is based on Linux and Microsnots products have improved. Perhaps the best OS of the past was OS2, which never became popular If you want a better OS without changing hardware why not try Linux and it is free! all the best, urban
