they say that in the eyes of a mother, her kid remain a baby the whole time.I think its true because my son is 9years old now,am seeing changes on him growing into a young man, loves adult music now and not the nursery thing, has crushes in school, has visible attitudes of being a teenager, but I am still over protective at times. Like asking him not to go far, wipe his back, etc and he say, Mom, am not a baby anymore. but I see him still a very fragile human and mostly when he is sick, has fever, it's when I panic like I used to when he was a baby, a toddler. Am I not over acting?

Its completely normal. My mom still treats me like that at times. Its just like you said that you are being overprotective. No parent can see their child same as to how they see some stranger of the same age

My youngest son is 8 years old. And I feel exactly the same way as you do towards your son. I guess, we as mothers would never lose the memory of our babies no matter how old they get. It is ours and no one can ever replace that special bond we ave for each one of them.

Hi luisa! If that is the case, then most of us are over reacting, he he. I still consider my 14 year old daughter as baby. Being the youngest among the two children that I have, maybe it is the mother who doesn't grow at all because I was stocked on her being a baby. I think this is but normal for mothers to have this reaction over their children. Have a nice day!

Its normal, kids grow so fast, one day they're just babies and the next time you know it they're already teenagers and you didnt even feel it. I feel that way too especially for people I've cared for when they were still young. They used to be so small, and now that they've grown you can't help but think about the things you did for them when they were still younger. But change is constant, sometimes, it comes and goes under our noses and we fail to see it. They change, and we must change too, this is all normal, nothing to worry about.
