Understanding and reading

Some People don't understand anything and read. Even I have the habit of doing it sometimes. I want to know is it really effective to understand first or read and cram. I mean is it better sometimes to only cram when it is the question of getting marks. I am not in favor of doing this though.What do you think is it necessary or you just avoid it?

depends on the learning style anshu. (in my opinion) there are some people who can understand and absorb easily when cramming. for them reading ahead bore them resulting to "waste of time" however for some, reading is like chewing food for the can digest it slowly and surely.
