Plain as the nose on your face, isn't it? It's just that those "people" that are trying to make these laws...their noses have been so high up in the air for so long...they can't see the nose on their faces! And they are all so OLD, yes old...they haven't been out in normal society in decades..they haven't a clue how it is to live out here. They all have their personal body guards etc so it isn't an issue to them. What is really needed is term limits on these politicians. Most of them are over 60 and have been in that office/job for 20-30 years...they are no longer qualified to make laws...they don't live in the normal world where the laws go into effect so how in the world can they possibly know what is needed to make this country work and keep the people that support them in their lavish lifestyles, safe.

I agree that our congress is a BIG part of the problem. I fully agree that they are: 1. Too old to be in office 2. Think they are royalty They get regularly re-elected because of the older people who grew up in their times and believe their lies because it is familiar. These same people influence their young ones to vote for these guys who truly should not still be in office. What is worse, is that a lot of these same older people don't care if you screw over the younger generation since well they don't have to live it. The fact that many of them are paid off makes it worse. I mean who is giving you a better incentive to vote on legislation. The poor people who voted you in or that guy/organization who spent over 100,000 to get you to vote some way. We do need term limits and not the excuse of 'well elections are term limits' because if they were these people wouldn't get re-elected. I, at one point, wanted to run for an office but in all seriousness my ideas aren't popular with either party. I do believe in pay cuts (for congress) and would have no issues with cutting down that ridiculous salary since why on earth should someone get 100,000+ a year to be a public servant for the people especially during a financial crisis. I don't agree with any lobbying and well pushing to make lobbying illegal would upset congress and any organization's lobbyist. I don't believe in catering to corporations or large donors who help campaign efforts because they don't represent all the people that they would be representing. I don't believe in ridiculous campaign spending especially when we still have Americans who are jobless, losing their homes, and much much more. Too bad we don't have too many politicians that run with those thoughts in mind. No smear campaigns, no gerrymandering, no b.s. - just politicians who truly care about the country not how many lies they need to tell for votes.

I differ with you on why they are reelected, people think the government (political party) OWES them something. They vote for who they think will serve THEIR interests, not America's interests.

That is another good point Deb though I still believe that older politicians can connect more with people in their age group as it were than older or younger. Sort of like a middle line of voters as it were. I tend to look at candidates overall and think objectively when electing them. It is sad that we have to weigh out the pros and cons of every elected official and then decide on the lesser of two evils. To me at least they are usually the same evil with slightly different words used as their packaging. I am for equal rights, strict regulations, budgets, and more conservative spending (not to be confused with conservative ideals on what we should spend on). There should be truly moderate candidates than what the people are given to choose from.

I understand that Americans kill more of their own people than jhadists do. Wisdom is knowing when the cure is worse than the disease all the best, urban

No, the laws for that one place are pretty strict, just not the places surrounding it.

I don't want to talk about it. I think it's hopeless. :-(
