Is an approved adsense account necesarry?

Recently I have uploaded two videos n you tube, one of which is monetized. But in order to get paid I need to link my adsense account with that. Very earlier, I had signed up to an adsense account for a blog which was not approved. Does that mean I don't have an adsense account? Can I use that very account to get paid?
