How do you Define Love??

What is love to you? I find the concept of love to be subjective for each person. I have been asked..Have you ever been in love? I reply...yes I believe so. Yet, multiple times, I have received the reply to my response to be...If you have been in love you would know. However, I have multiple men tell me they love within the first two weeks of dating and seriously meant it. So are they wrong? Is love just heightened emotions? Or is it a respect and understanding of two people who have spent years together and know each other inside and out? These are my thoughts. I think people confuse lust, infatuation, and love. Just because I am sexually attracted to someone and feel flushed when I am around them and get butterflys when I am about to meet them does not mean I am in love. Just because I constantly think of a person because I enjoy being around them so much and they run through my brain frequently through out the day does not mean I'm in love. Those two scenarios are lust and infatuation...Not love! Love takes time it takes patience and it takes the heightened feelings that you first experience when you date somebody to leave. After the lust and infatuation have left and you still love them for who they are and who you have come to know...then that is love. What are your thoughts?

Love is a movement outward and can be distinguished from infatuation, which is a movement inward. Love within a relationship is more like a skill than an emotion all the best, urban

Love can be defined in different ways depending what point of view you aiming to look from. If differs in the matter of age and gender (male or female). Many people choose a girl over her looks and honryness(Idk if this is even a word). Its a shame how men love under that condition. True love is when the two soul mates are best friends, trusting each other in everything. A relationship doesn't work without trust. Build trust is the main thing that keeps friendships going. And loving someone for a reason you don't how or why, can be considered true love. Thats my point of view. Tell me about yours :)

i think love has a deeper meaning above all else.. for some its just a word spelled L-O-V-E, but on own understanding Love is when you are willing to sacrifice your own happiness for that one special person. Being unselfish is one that describes LOVE for me. And yes you're right, that love takes patience especially if the person you fell in love with is not so perfect. If you really love that someone, you can actually accept those imperfections and just make it all beautiful in your eyes.
