Windows 8 is no better than windows 7, its just consume more harddrive space(~40gb just for installation compared to win7 which only consume ~16gb for 32bit and ~20gb for 64bit). All features is almost the same as win7, just a few unimportant changes. The performance of a computer is depends on its hardware, since i saw you've 4gb ram and 2.3Ghz processor, then i would suggest to upgrade your processor and/or you video card, get at least 3Ghz multicore processor and 1gb of graphics card, this way your computer will perform better than upgrading your OS.

Yea you're right, im planing to make my win7 32bit to 64bit but the problem is there are programs that wasn't run when I'm on 64bit :(, But with Good OS, it will help the user to make the PC runs smooth and faster,

You're good to go for win8 with such a spec but i think win7 is still fine and has more compatibility than win8(at least for now). There are still a lot of software and games out there which doesn't support win8 yet. The important thing is OS won't make your PC runs faster but a USER with good knowledge will.

Hi, You should be happy with Win7, although I suggest you upgrade to a 64-bit one to maximize your processor use. I haven't tried Win8 yet but I hear it is only suited for touch screens and runs a bit slow like the Win Vista upgrade from WinXP.

Do you think I should run my computer into 64-bit? I tried 64bit a year ago, but I decided to go back to 32bit, cos some of my files or programs, doesn't work with 64-bit, but do you think it's more faster with the spec of my laptop,

Well I think you should re-check about what you needs with the OS upgrade. As far as I know the Windows 8 are designed to consumes contents since you can see from their default UI interface. So if you are a creative worker which needs extra detailed access to your computer internal mechanism I think Windows 8 is not yet suited for you. 64 bit have larger data transfer rate than 32 bit version but as you might as well experienced there are some programs which does not run under the 64 bit. You can try to emulate them using virtual machine though. Also upgrading OS does not mean you will got speed upgrades in overall. Not to mention you need to re-install all apps again. You must think that early version will need to be patched and upgraded a long way. So bottom line is if you use the computer for working I still suggest you to keep the old Win 7 version unless it's home edition or lower version. If you had Ultimate version then I think there's no need to upgrade for now.

I think you are in good hand to upgrade Windows 8, and the spec is capable of installing win 8 with no problem at all I think. Honestly, I never use Windows 8 before, but some people told me that it is good for touch screen. So that is why some touch - screen laptop are used Windows 8 right now.
