Regarding stars and reputation

I am confused. I do not even know if this questioning is allowed, but I need to try to find answers. I have looked under rules, facts etc and other than the general explanation of reputation can't find what I am questioning. First let me say if anyone has a link to the answers of my quaetions I surely would appreciate it. I went from a 99 to 97 reputation within days...I can't figure out why. Is it because a few (or more than a few) posters thought I was being nasty or impolite?? I don't think I was but perhaps I unintentionally and unknowingly stepped on some toes?? I basically love to hear everyones views and respect them all and actually learn so much from those who disagree with me. I do have definte opinions and maybe some misinterpreted and thought I was less than considerate?? I'd appeciate if anyone who thought so would also let me know... Hope this discussion is allowed..

I think you have the best two investigators on this one, stary1..Mike and Lambie, and they cannot see where you have caused any confrontation! Sadly, sometimes I think it is just the way we SAY/write things that seem to wrankle others, and they go on a spree of negative rating! I had this happen to me, when I was in the 2000 range, and for the life of me, I could not find the cause...and as you say, misinterpretation can sometimes be the culprit! I have shared discussions with you in the past, and find you most amicable in your replies...yes, you have an opinion, but it is expressed respectfully! I am truly hoping you will not let this interrupt your good in-put here!

pergammano Oh thank you so much for your comment..it really did make me feel good this morning. I know sometimes I get carried away and could step on some toes, but it would be unintentional. More than once I have reworded a post to make sure it was not open to a negative interpretation and I avoid giving out minuses in case I have misunderstood someone. I like this place too much to leave ..especially when there are such nice people like you... Thanks again

wow! i didn't know that your rating could actually be lower. thank goodness mine hasn't as yet. i can't figure out what it could it be. don't take it too personal, though. it's kinda hard, because it's all different kinds of personalities on mylot.

MoonGypsy Thank you..I just don't want to offend anyone and if I am doing so I am open to be criticized and perhaps there is something I could do differently. I agree there are different personalities and I guess I would prefer being confronted rather than sort of 'behind my back' criticised I have never been one to be afraid of any confrontation and perhaps that could get me in trouble...Thanks for taking time to comment...

It is all in the way others vote for you in your responses and comments. What you are thinking is probably it exactly. I doubt all will let you know. Alot of people aren't that forth coming. Hope you get it figured out.

celticeagle Thank you ..I thnk what surprised me was how quickly I went fromn 99 to 97 I know I had a few disagreements but I would never have guessed that would be enough to have someone give a negative rating..I do not think mere disagreements is enough for a negatve rating .I understand what you are saying that no one will come forth even though I kind of wish they would or even show me how something could have been misinterpreted..but I guess that won't happen..Nice of you to comment TY
