Legalization of marijuana (USA)

This is a VERY controversial topic. I am wondering what your opinions are on the lagalization of pot. A lot of people want it to be legalized because they think it would make marijuana smoking much safer, since people wouldn't have to worry about laced plants and such. Also, it would lower drug trafficking and increase the economy. A lot of drug dealers don't want it legalized as it would cost them money. That's right, the criminals are the ones who DONT want it legalized! Weird huh? However, a lot of people worry about their family members (children mainly)smoking it because it is legalized, which is a cause for concern. I personally am not against the legalization of marijuana, even though I don't smoke it.
