Wow, did you know that the chances of you being a descendent from Ghenghis Khan as a male are approximately 1 in 200 (in 2010, now it is slightly less chance)?? That's crazy! That means that it's likely that at least a couple of people that I know are distant relatives of his!

It's amazing how many descendants that one man can have. However the thing that interested me most was that it wasn't just down to him having lots of Children, it's also due to the prestige of carrying Genghis Kahn's bloodline it gave his descendants a higher place in society. This helped his descendants to grow in number by allowing them to get more wives etc.I knew that he had taken lot's of wives from the tribes that he had conquered but I never knew how much his bloodline was respected in many different succeeding societies despite any differences.
