We had an argument with my Aunt about me going to another religion. I was born Catholic because I was baptized as one moreover my family is, too. Well. I don't associate religion in choosing people I want myself to associate with, all the more to making decisions. I don't classify things in terms of religion because I respect individual's judgement. But what's bugging me out is WHY oh WHY did Catholic displays carved statue of our Almighty? Well that's where the argument starts when i asked my Aunt about feasting over, dancing in circles carrying the Saint Niño and making loud sounds of joy and praises over the statue Niño, and it abruptly occurred to me that particular event happened when Moses climb down from Mt. Sinay where he witnessed the Israelite praising, dancing with joy around the gold cow. God was so furious that he cursed all who participated the rites. As it is an apparent violation of HIS one commandment "thou shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything in heaven above, or that is in earth beneath...." And my Aunts' response?---- Well, you know just like when you miss your mother from far away, you look into her picture to ease the pain and you get better.. and the argument goes on... I can't type everything here.. Anyone??, your thoughts, please be open minded people, I'm just like you who wants to know the truth or atleast close to that.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand your situation very well and i know u must be confused very much after this argument. i would like to suggest u not to lose your anger and try to talk to your aunt properly so that things are made clear and not blown out of proportion at the end of the day. What say?
