Rainy Days are Days for Relaxation

Philippines

I like rainy days when it is my rest day. However, when it's a weekday I don't like the feel of going outside and getting all muddy. I hate it when I have to go out. I like it though when I can just stay indoor. It's because I feel like sleeping all day long. When I get tired sleeping, then I eat soup. I watch animes or asian dramas while eating chips. It might be unhealthy but I like doing it.

Whenever it is rainy and i have to go to work, i feel like not reporting to work. That happens a lot of time, so last Thursday when it was raining heavily, i called in sick to the office and just simply stayed at home. It was indeed a relaxing day, cooking my favorite viands, surfing the net, doing FB and being here at Mylot. I guess, everyone feels this way, whenever it is raining.

Well, as for me, i know that my boss is on the campaign trail with a candidate our company is endorsing. Thus, i am sure that she won't be needing me, so i texted her and HR to inform them that i am not feeling well . It's only the HR who texted back because i know my boss was so busy at that time.

I was actually tempted to do the same thing last Friday. I wanted to stay at home. The thing is I remembered I had a training class to handle and no other trainer was available to handle them and then I remembered the time that the class would be wasting. Hais....

I used to love the rain. All the more the refreshing feelings and sight of the environment after the rain. Indeed when it rains, it felt like bed-weather. All I wanted to do was just lie down and cuddle my soft pillow and sleep tightly. Yes, rain used to delight me. Like you, I did love it during the weekends and would not want to have the rain during weekdays for it would make me lazy and would not want to leave the house for work anymore. But that was before. Nowadays... rain no longer delights me but it brings me fear. The climate-change made the rain too devastating. More often than not, when it rains, it pours to the point of bringing flood. And who would love flood? It is so destructive. So when the rain started falling whether be it weekend, I no longer rejoice but I worry and would start praying that this rain won't bring in destructive flood.

Oh that was a scary experience. What if the rain did not stop...every one would be drowned? Thank God, he did not allow that to happen. That is exactly what I fear about. Even if our house is elevated I could not help but get scared. What if the rain won't stop? I also pity those who houses are not as high as ours. Their houses would be covered by flood and they had to evacuate to a higher place. This scenario happens when there are strong typhoons and also during rainy season when rain falls hard and long. So the rain becomes traumatic to me because of these flood experiences.

I'm sorry to hear that. I really like the rain but not the kind of rain that would bring destruction. I like the rain that would relax me and make me feel cozy inside the house. Does your place always flood? It is true that climate change had brought about a lot of devastating changes to human lives but here in our place, people seemed to have learned their lesson. Once there was a time when our place got flooded to the point that everyone was already scared that the whole town would be drowned. Everyone prayed hard and the storm stopped. After that, my neighbors seemed to be neater and more tidy.

rainy days are really great to be spent indoors.just dont get too attached to it or you will lose your job.its good to relax once in a while, but if it will hamper our prductivity then i think it is better to be soaked wet and muddy than to be clean and dry but no money...

Yep. When you are already working, money itself is a good motivation to go out and battle with the rain.

I agree. Rainy days are always the best days to relax. It is just too bad when you day off is only a day and it rains. During these times, it is always nice to stay a little more in bed and basically not do a lot. But sometimes this becomes a problem. When you really are in the mood to just relax and just think of good things, you really will not be able to do anything. The day become a wasted day because you did nothing. I think that even if it a good time to relax, we still need to try to plan an activity or two.

It think watching tv is an activity. =) I do blogging as well and I have part time jobs at home. So I don't consider days inside as unproductive days.

I like rainy days when i don't feel to go outside. When i'm stuck in my house i rather watch movies while eating soup. And i feel sleepy all day long. But i don't like rainy days when it's a school day because i feel lazy to go to school and getting mud on uniform pisses me off. But once in a while, i do like rainy days

Well, it is true if you do not have to get out and go to work and such, rainy days are great days for relaxation just to lay around and watch a movie. Many times if it is cooler, wrapping yourself in a warm blanket with a bowl of popcorn and just relaxing is always nice. Never hurts with the busy life style to take some time to do some of this as well.

Oh cuddling yourself while wrapped in a warm blanket really really sounds nice. Hehehe.. It's sunny again today and I hope the next weekend, it would rain. Hahaha

I am the same as you. I especially like to sleep or read when its raining. It is really very peaceful. going out in the rain is okay sometimes but I wouldn't like to do so if i don't have to. Worse is when it is snowing.
• Philippines
24 Feb 13
It doesn't snow here in our country. I would really like to experience how is it when it's snowing but I would now wish for it to snow here. That would rather be weird and that would mean that climate change is getting really really serious.

Its very quiet outside when it snows because it is like a blanket on the ground. Sound also carries though, say, some people outside playing in the snow their voices will carry far. Snow is peaceful in ways, I just don't like the after effect of having snow on the ground so long. Its hard to get around.

when i was a student and is raining day, this is the best time to relax and sleep. no need to go to the school or do homework, or study this is feel great. getting lazy a while is a great idea too honestly i am say, why getting so rush here and there? for what
• Philippines

When I was a student I also loved the rain because I get to wear various jackets everyday. As you can see I have a very shallow happiness. I take delight in small stuff. Hehehe

I like rainy days season too, its the season for laziness for me also hehe.. but actually i dont like it because I feel like im in a jail when raining and I cant go outside to talk with my friends, i cant go to mall because im afraid to my clothes become dirty.
• Philippines
24 Feb 13
I really don't mind not being able to talk to my friends because I am a person who can spend a week not talking to anyone. It's not because I'm anti-social or what. As a matter of fact I have lots of friends. It's just that I also delight on times when I can spend the whole day for myself. When I could meditate or spend time only with myself.

I also like rainy days but only when I can stay at home. I hate it when it rains on a weekday, especially during the commuting hours. It's actually fun to be at home and rains can be enjoyed better. I sit in my balcony with a cup of tea and some snack and just view the beauty.
• Philippines

I also enjoy the view when it's raining. I especially enjoy the view after the rain. Seeing raindrops on the leaves of the trees and plants in our garden, seeing a rainbow in the sky, it reminds one that there would always be a new beginning. You may say I am sentimental and too emo but my mind really wanders.

Me too. I like the idea of a rainy day on my restdays while watching dramas or anime or reading books and while eating my favorite foods. That would be the most relaxing restday for me!
• Philippines
23 Feb 13
Yes... I totally know the feeling. The air is kind'a cold and it feels cozy under the blanket while watching TV. Then add up binging. Oh yeah.. two thumbs up! Too bad it stopped raining thought just when it's already my rest day. =(

I don't like the rain when I need to go out and do some work. But I still like it more than a sunny day. Maybe I'm just weird.

I'd love winter as well. Too bad, I don't get to experience snow here in our country. I live in a tropical country that's why. But I told myself I'll go ahead and experience winter and autumn (I love the color of the leaves) in another country.

I have a mixed feeling about rain.I really feel bad while I am in outing. The most disturbing to me is drizzling.Nobody knows when it is going to stop. Carrying umbrella is another annoying factor to me as I often leave it to the place where I work. This means, rain is over and sometimes I forget to carry umbrella with me. The road is muddy and sleepy. It is a little bit risky if you are careless in your walking style. I enjoy rain in the weekend. I am at home and enjoy listening music or reading book or enjoying my special recipe. Raining at night is really excellent. The sound of raining makes a sweet rhyme and help me to have sound sleep.

Yes. Whether you love something or not would actually depend on what situation you are in. =)

Oh yeah, pouring rain outside and a girl siting in front of the window with a cup of coffe in her hand and dreamy look on her face. What a lovely image, right? But the truth is that during rainy days you feel more lazy than relaxed and you're just happy that you are not one of that unlucky people walking down the streets that are already soaking wet. It's the sun that gives you energy and I feel more relaxed when it shines while I rest.
• Philippines

I guess so. But I really love the peter-patter of the rain. I also like a sunny day but not as much. That's because when it's sunny here, it's usually scorching hot.
• India
22 Feb 13
I also like rainy day when I am having an off from my office, like to sleep, eat hot snacks, having hot ginger tea and sometimes go on drives on the roads with greenery on both the sides. But this happens only when rain comes once a while, I dont like rain when it continues for more than a couple of days, it irritates. And I dont like rains in winters at all, it makes the weather very bad and then I dont feel like doing anything.

Indeed... Too much of anything is not good. If the rain would pour down continuously for a number of days, I'm sure the streets of the metro would go flooded again. That's what happens here in our country. A three-day rain would satisfy me. =)
