Im from India and due to low availabilty of money i happend to buy a second hand 2stroke bike. works fine. Roars like a monster. has better power than common ones. and recently when i gave it to the mechanic to get it serviced and tuned up. He was really surprised to see that there was NOTHING like an air filter or anything except a large whole in the specified area. As soon as i found that i bought an air filter myself and fixed it. My Question is, what would have happend if i had not find out about the air filter? The engine gets more hot in a few minutes. did the absence of air filter lead to this. answers will be pretty much appreciated thank you in advance! :)

It would mess up the engine. The filter is meant to keep stuff out of there. The filter should also be cleaned often especially if you live in a high pollution area or always go on dirt roads.

Yes it will mess up the engine. Thank you so much for sharing your thought here on my discussion. The air filter is some kinda thing which filters the dirty air for the engine to take more fresh air. it somewhat does the same functions of what our hairs in the nostrils do in our nose(filtering air). and Thank you for that infromation where you told me that i should clean the air filter. well i dont actually live in a high pollution area but still will clean it often thank you
