song that made me think of my daughter

As I was doing some communications in my laptop a while ago, I thought of playing a song. I chose one that my daughter would usually sing in our videoke, whenever she’s home.
I can’t help but be misty eyed, because I suddenly remembered and missed her. We only get to see her when it’s school’s vacation time and that would be more than 2 months from now.
We always get to talk to her thru phone or thru skype, but I still miss her when this song was played.

We often associate certain songs to a particular person. Coz we are reminded of what were the top songs during a certain time that we are with a particular person, or just like your situation, a song that you and your daughter used to sing together.
I would often get teary eyed myself upon hearing certain songs which I directly
associate to special people in my life.

I think, if she is always here with us, and i hear that song, i won't get misty eyed. But then, she's not with us always so that's why whenever i hear that song, i get misty eyed.
Songs indeed can have that effect on us, it makes us teary eyed specially if we associate it to someone not physically present at that time we heard the song.
