Pleasantly Surprised

A few weeks ago, I got a random email for a survey. It looked like one of the survey sites I had signed up for in the past and decided 'Hey why not?'. The survey promised a $10 Visa Gift card for successful completion of the survey. I completed the survey and had entered my information for the gift card. Once I finished and submitted everything, I noticed that I had not actually signed up for the site in which I got the survey from. I got a bit worried and had been mad at myself because I thought I just signed up for or gave my information to one of those companies that constantly sends spam through the mail. I didn't get any extra ads or anything when I checked my mail however. Still, I doubted that it was even a real survey because most paid surveys don't seem to actually pay. Well today I got an envelope with just my name saying it was from Florida. I was wondering what on earth I was getting from Florida and opened it up to be pleasantly surprised with - the $10 Gift card! I am rather happy. This is not to say I am going to answer every survey I get that promises to pay as there are a lot of scams out there but I am incredibly thankful that this wasn't. Have you had a pleasant surprise or experience lately?

That is indeed a very pleasant surprise. And you are so lucky that you manage to get into those survey sites that indeed pay you up after completing their surveys. I wouldn't blame you though if you are wary of those surveys because most of them are just fishing for personal information for their marketing strategies and heaven-forbid-for scamming and stealing your identity.

When I had first signed up for a survey site, I had rarely qualified for any of the surveys. I had joined another that said if you reached the amount for payout then request it but never got pay out. I was just tired and figured 'why not' when I took the survey and they actually paid. So I am thankful that I randomly got a survey they actually paid and that I completed it.

Yes, this is a plesantly surprise. But i think you should be more carefull next time. You can find a lot of scams, as you say. If you want to send again your confidential information to this kind of sites i advice you to make a little research about the company that send you the email. Maybe next time you will not be so lucky.

I should probably write down a list of every survey site I sign up for. I wouldn't say the information provided was necessarily confidential as there are ways for employers to access my resume online and all I had to personally enter was my name and address. I will be more careful next time. I don't want to sign up for any mailing lists. As much as I enjoy catalogs and things, I prefer not getting a lot of them in the mail. I was pretty sure I had signed up for the site until I went to login in and my login didn't work. Thank you for posting and Welcome to Mylot.
