How to get rid of cockroaches?

Is there any natural ways to get rid of cockroaches? Those little critters are so annoying especially in the middle of the night. There are times when they would crawl on our bed and wake us up at night. I tried using pandan leaves but the only thing it does is make the cockroaches hide because the cockroaches don't like the smell of pandan leaves. But after two days when the aroma of the leaves have gone, the roaches will come out of their hiding places again and crawl all over the place. I am looking for ways to get rid of these roaches in a cheap or natural way. Can someone here give me some tips and ideas? It will be very much appreciated and a very big help.

well,if your house is connected to another house, you're screwed.because it's only as clean as your neighbor's. BUT..when i lived in arizona,(everybody had them) the one house that did not i rented, had geckos coming in from outside. so,if you can get gecko lizards to turn loose in your house, guaranteed you won't have as many because they love to eat them.

Hi khithi! Do you have an old house and i suppose it is made of wood, right? It is a common problem with houses like this. When we were in the old apartment we are renting, no matter how you try to clean the place, there would be a couple of roaches everyday. This is the difference between our new house now. Because there are no roaches. weee and well there would be one in a month flying in through thee window from outside the house. he he Okay as for the getting rid of them part, never try the spray - we tried that before and the roaches have gone loco flying everywhere in the house and all roaches have gotten out of their hiding place. You can also try the chalk, but it too is the same. I think the best you can do is to have an exterminator and clean the house and just have a general cleaning. killing them one by one won't do it.

They won`t go even if you nuke the place. The cheapest way to get rid of them is to stop bringing food to your house. This way not only that you won`t pay anything but you will also save the money you usually pay for food, and you will look much better.

Keeping your whole house, in and out will help you minimize cockroaches is most effective natural way but this will not completely exterminate them. If you want them fully exterminated, go and get a cockroach exterminator. It may not be cheap but that is the best way.

Keep the house clean always. Foods should be in proper places and sealed. Wash dishes properly and throw trash in areas outside the house. Its the most natural way..

I wrote something on my blog about a cheap way to eliminate cockroaches. Though I'm not sure if I can post a link here.

The best would be really cleaning up the whole house spotless clean. These critters love to dwell in places that are somewhat cluttered. Make it a habit to clean the walls and floors with lysol. It is also a way of completely disinfecting the whole house. Also, I found this over the net, hope this helps: http://www.stretcher.com/stories/05/05jun06a.cfm#.USxIAx2NnhI

well you can try these...Once you've seen roaches in your living space, odds are there are many more out of view. You can begin an active stance against the roach by getting rid of those who have made their presence known to you. Try: sprinkling a small amount of boric acid where you've seen roaches travel through your home. The roach will poison themselves by ingesting the acid during their regular grooming routine. Be sure to sprinkle in dark, damp areas, too, like under bathroom and kitchen sinks, behind washers and dryers, and around the refrigerator, and behind appliances. Note: The ingestion of boric acid is also toxic to humans. Do not use in areas where small children or animals play, sleep, or eat
