Information Sites Giving the Wrong Information

I know how to fix this but I'm perturbed at this point! I keep getting calls for people that don't live with me. Come to find out that Whitepages.com is posting incorrect information. This person has never lived here, isn't even related...they just have the same last name. Google.maps did this as well. Stating my address was a local business when it wasn't. I remember years back creating an account with the Better Business Bureau all to be told after I created it that I wasn't the owner of the company. They needed to talk to the a person down the road from me because they attached his name to my business account. So what is it with the internet and this 'information highway' that they vomit just anything out there and we have to clean up their mess? I know there are steps to take to correct all of this, but my point is why should I have to? Google's customer service is terrible, by the way. Good luck getting anything corrected there. Whitepages claims I have to "create an account with them to correct my information" If remember right, it took about a week before the Better Business Bureau corrected their data entry problem so I could access my own account. (Never thought about it but should have turned them into themselves for their customer service) I mean what gives? Where is the quality control in anything. Vent over....maybe I just need a nap.

Hi, You are right. Some sites give wrong information. It is very irritating. But we can not improve this.

There are ways to correct it, if you create an account 'claim' the information then change it. It's a process that I feel we shouldn't have to do. Very irritating.

It has always been frustrating how there seems to be little good customer service anymore. I would of hoped that information they give out pertaining to you should be easier to change, or conceal. I suppose as more information is available, there will be more errors found, but it can still be annoying. I have been listed on white pages and friend locator sites living at addresses I have never even been to, even schools I have never attended. It seems daily that I find incorrect info on something. I guess it is something I have to get used to, like GPS giving bad directions or having bad addresses. Last year, we were directed to a home, it was listed as major burger joint. No matter where I look for it near that location, even on the corporate site, the address and that house show up. I have often wondered how many knocks that house has had.
