"I should learn to enjoy my life, I'm too serious with my job" that's what they told me. Good point but the problem is I don't know how. I take everything too seriously. How do you enjoy your job at the same time don't take it seriously?

It's a different category, of enjoying and being serious. To enjoy your job means, having improvements, being more accurate, and having a progress on your work without due complaint or blah blah blah term that every move comes out with an exchange. Just like loving your job. It's emotion. To be serious means being true, not to play at work, to consider prior things and budget your time to maintain updates and harmony with the boss and your co-employer. To remember your goals and dreams and reasons why your were working, to comes out with an align attitude of how you would do the job. It's performance. You can do it both..! Unless you have a different definition on it. Like being serious is not to smile for the whole and just work work work, and to enjoy is playing games while in office or going with some co-staff chatting and spending time without good outputs and be wasted. That's not it..

Balancing work and play is very important. Too much of either two will lead to exhaustion or trouble.

It's not that easy. Each person has his and her own way to enjoy their job. So I think it would be better for you to figure it out. I have read before that you need to find the fun factor in a job. What may seem the most boring job might not be as boring if we try to find to twist things up a bit to make it more interesting. You need to be creative about it. I think you abide by the rules of the books too much that is why you find it boring and you get burned out easily. Twist things up and bend a few rules to make it a bit exciting, just don't do it too much or you risk losing your job. Another thing that is important: Get along with your work mates. They can be good to tease and make fun of. I saw some people in my workplace before and these guys would always tease their female friends just for the fun of it.

Well, I am not really sure because I make sure that the job that I take is something that I enjoy doing. And I always take my job seriously. I do enjoy chatting with my workmates about some non-wrok related stuff during breaks or when I pass by them in the hallway, but that's it. Most of the time I make sure that my work is at par and at the standards that we set before I even took the job. I do go out with some friends at work from time to time and participate in charities and events that the company hosts.
