It's hard to control temper especially when you are really tempted to slap the face of the person who annoys you so bad. i'm actually not good at this. do you guys have any idea how to control our temper in a very bad moment?

Im a hot tempered person but I will never ever lay a hand to anyone no matter how tempted or annoyed I become unless he/she will attempt to assault me then that will be my go signal.

what works best for me is as soon as i feel anger starting to build up. i take a few breaths, and i ask Jesus to give me the strength to handle the situation in the right way....To fight the evil of anger, and put love back in my heart. The anger just melts away.

thank you so much for a very nice advice, you are right let Jesus handle my anger and let his peace and joy of the Lord fill my heart.

@tipay26 i know, i can relate to that... we already know that we would regret the ugly situation however, sometime we really want to show the person what we feel.

I have a high pain threshold and so I get to control my anger quite well. I really do not want to be enraged, I hate the feeling of hyperventilating. As much as I can handle it, I try to put reasons to such untoward incident that could actually explode my brains.

I would usually try my best to get out of there and go somewhere I can vent out. I either go out and take a walk, or go to the bathroom to splash some cold water on my face. But I will make sure that the person I was talking to knows that I am not walking out because I am weak, I am walking out for his own good and I refuse to listen to anymore crap that I don't deserve. It is really hard to control your temper if the person is really asking for it but it takes a whole lot of guidance and love for yourself knowing that you don't have to go low to win an argument.

I understand that, but as you know you need to control ones temper. Stay out of trouble, as its not worth it. Take care there.

We need to understand that our anger is most unhealthy emotion for us but others. We need to understand the how to handle this emotion which is most damaging to our health and mind.I am also learning how to deal with it as it is not helping me any where on the contrary such kind of emotions are problem creator rather than problem solver.

Yes it is really hard to do it. I suggest you to try to learn some Yoga exercises of breathing. You can also imagine that the person that is getting you mad is a baby, or something like that. Because we , of course, would not be upset with a fragile person as a baby. You can also have a walk elsewhere, chat on the phone, or write in a notepad what you are feeling write the date and in this way you get rid of the anger by writing it.
