My Pasta With Just Stewed Tomato and Canned Jalapeno

March 8, 2013 8:13am CST
I bought spaghetti pasta just enough for my and my husband's breakfast. I did not use the spahetti sauce I bought but instead I heated the canned stewed tomato combined with a can of jalapeno. I also put in a can of tuna flakes. After heating the mixture, I poured it on the cooked spaghetti pasta and wow, how I loved its very tomatoey and jalapeno taste. I just loved what I did experimenting on my pasta. It's always good to experiment on some recipes and deviate a little from the traditional recipes.

Sounds good to me. Over the years I have had to make things like that. When money was tight. Youd be surprised what us gals can make to eat.

I agree with you, mariaperalta..there's something in us girls that can be creative most of the times when we start hitting the pans already and mixing various ingredients.. :)

Hello :D. I might try this, did you use the liquid in the can of the jalapenos or the liquid in the tuna to make the sauce? Or was it more like a paste using the tuna to spread the flavor?

Hello! The canned tuna I used is the one that's hot and spicy in vegetable oil and I drained almost half of the oil. Yes, I poured all the jalapeno juices on the pot. It really tasted good as if I went to Sbarro for that tomato spaghetti I so loved about Sbarro.

I don't know if I'd like the tuna in it though. I'd love to add stewed tomatoes to pasta though my hubby cannot tolerate it so I don't cook with it much other than to make chili.
