We got our new car......

I'm really excited, we got our income tax money in like last week, but we wanted to wait around and just shop around for cars until we found one we both like. Although, I'll be the main driver of the car, we will be sharing the car. So I got to pick it out. We just bought our car yesterday. And its really exciting. Its a used car but it is in great shape. We went to a car lot and bought it. Its a 2006 Ford Taurus. It has 88,000 miles on it which is really good for the mileage.
It was so fun to go together and buy something really big together. We have never bought something as big as a car together. We have to make monthly payments still, we put $1,000 down on it so we owe left $7,000 we are hoping to have it paid off by next year when we get our income tax.

How exciting for you! Only 88,000 miles on it too. Mine had 90- something. Mine was a 1991 and I payed the same price for it as you did. That was in 1995 or 1996. Enjoy!

I sure wish I could get a newer one. This one has sure been a good car but they get that point at some time.

I am glad for you. That means that you do not have to share one car just in case you do not have the same hours and he goes in a different direction to work then you do. It does make it easier.

It is hard when there are different schedules. I know we just have one car, and my husband worked the afternoon shift. But I was not working, but when our sons had to go to University, they had to go in the morning so it would have helped to have an extra car then.

Yeah having this extra car will help out a lot. My husband and I have two way different schedules at work. He goes in at 1 in the afternoon while I get up at 5 and in to work at 6 and I'm not out till 2:30 in the afternoon. So he always had to ask for rides and take the bus. Now he's excited cause now he doesn't have to ask for rides and take the bus. Now we each have our own car to ride to work.

The car is nice. How I wish I could buy a car too. I just do not have money yet... ha ha :lol: but before I would buy a car, I should learn to drive first, he he.

Oh how exciting! I am also getting a new car on my birthday next month and I can't wait. Although I have to make sure that we sold my current one. It's a Chevy monte carlo. I think I am getting a Jeep this time. We do not have any more space in the garage and for an additional car plus I don't need 2 cars. And we can always use the money coming from the sale.

Yeah we really did need a good one. But plus also we needed a second car. With his hours and my hours someone would be without a car. So now we have a second car and on top of that a dependable car. The other car we have is pretty much dependable just have a few problems that needs to be fixed and its an older car as well.
