When you know something is illegal happening in your workplace. For example you know they are not paying taxes correctly or not issuing recipts on their sale. Would you go to tell this to the authorities? How are you going to report such without putting you in danger? Sharing yoru thoughts will be much appreciated.

That really is a tough position as an employee. I'd use it as leverage for a raise :P Depending on how extreme they are doing it, it may not be so terrible. A lot of people I'm sure leave out little things in their taxes to save some money, especially less wealthy people. However if they are doing major things, I'm sure audits will catch them. Maybe they don't know what they are doing wrong, and in that case you should inform them before authorities. Just remember, if you do report it you will probably have to get involved as a witness if they ask you to and it could become quite a hassle. In the end, do what you feel is right. We don't now the people cheating, maybe they are going through rough times. You know them better than us so try to use proper judgement and think carefully without acting out of haste.

I think I willjust leave them in the authorities. What I know is that they are selling millions of pesos per months but they are not issuing receipts to the customer upon payment. That is a huge amount and huge amount of tax can be also collected to it. I believe in Karma and I know in the future they will also caught by the authorities. I will just leave them.

Yes that's quite the offense, but getting in the middle of these things can be a bit of a hassle as mentioned. Maybe leaving it to the authorities is the way to go, or you could probably leave an anonymous tip if you wish.

it is best to leave it well enough alone and stay out of it even if its wrong

I think this is one of the best thing I can do for now. I will just leave them and let others, especially the authorities, will discover them.

Hi, There are times when it is more prudent to keep mum on whatever is happening in one's organization as long as it will not directly affect the normal flow of business. However, it is my duty to correct any misbehaviour of my co-workers if it poses hazard and may endanger the majority. There are lots of ways to report it to the proper authorities, text messaging is one of them, writing and putting notes in the suggestion box anonymously or contacting the concerned agency by covert means, the possibilities are endless.

I am thinking of some ways before on how to report but eventually it will put me into hassle since I know they will still discover who reported them. I will just leave this into faith. I know that government will eventually see this issue and will be ressolved.

I don't think I will report that if it has something to do with not issuing receipt or correct amount of taxes. At the first place, I don't think the government itself will use those taxes properly. Much better to give the credit to those who work hard for it. But if it is something serious that could affect someone's life, I think I will do it.

I get your point. Even the government will see this issue, this will just be another source of corruption. I think I will just leave it alone so I will not get into trouble.

I think I don't need to report this already to get rid of myself from any trouble because in time, they will know who reported it. I think I just let the authorities knew what they are doing.

Not good, id hate to get in the middle of something like that. Is the boss doing this? or another employee? Be careful in how you handle it.

This will really test my loyalty to the company. I was in the aid department before and I know that there is an instruction on not issuing official receipt and instead just an acknowledgement receiving the payment fromt he customer. Nto issuing receipt will make you free of taxes.
