Well I would suggest doing internships while in university, to make sure you have some sort of experience that would look good on your CV. Also, don't lay around during your holidays but find a summer job. To some employers, even if it isn't necessarily connected with your field of work, a summer job can look good if it involves taking on some sort of responsibility. I'm finishing my undergraduate studies this semester and I've had an internship so far and am looking for a part time job right now as I study. I would recommend the same if you're able to fit in the hours. Additional courses that are outside the curriculum of your university would also be an asset if they are to do with the field of work you want to find yourself in after university.

thank you for the suggestion. internships are already incorporated in the curriculum. so that is already a given for me. but i like your idea of taking additional course or part-time jobs. i may have to do that.

Well, depending on what type of job you are really wanting to get after your schooling is over, it might be a good thing to explore your options on what is really out there in the field of degree you are getting. Find something close to you and find out what it would take to get hired there. Maybe even talk with some of the people who work there. Getting the type of job you want and will be happy with is not always easy, but worth it when it happens. Wishing you the Best.

The best would be to now apply for an internship or student job, before your studies end. Because that way you could experience a hiring process and job interviews. After that, write a good CV (you could even ask for advice from professionals), and apply to as many jobs that you'd like and you'd be competent in. And don't fall into despair if some job interviews don't turn out too well, because you have to experience this kind of world, too, and get adepted to it.
