A pleasant day Fellow Mylotters,
For some reason, I can't understand why other people find it difficult to give a little respect to their fellow. Although this word is so easy to spell since it only have a 7-letters but people find it hard to give and express. And this is what I am encountering from the people that I am continuously meeting everyday. Hence, they can't start their inquiries under a soft voice tone, instead they jumped off easily having a hard and louder voices. And for me this is not a good attitude. I guess, they should show some respect even I am younger than them. And for me, if others cannot respect you then how will you respect them. Thus, the thing you can only give are the things that you can earn from them.

In our culture, we pay respect to people not base on age, but on the character and content of that person. So no matter how old or young you are, you have to earn the respect instead of expecting respect handed over to you on a golden plate from the people you just met. But on the other hand, as civilize people, we should be able to present ourselves in a polite manner to whenever we are in conversation, we should always talk in a soft and easy manner, not by shouting at each other right through the sky. Some of this is because of cultural background, it is the way they are brought up in a community that practice such tradition. While other may not know how to do it because they are not taught by their parent as a child. We live in a world that is full of surprises with various cultures and traditions.

all that you have said were true. i guess, if almost all people will practice speaking in a lower voice and in a polite manner then every trail of conversation will go smoothly. as respect will be properly observed.
anyway, i really can't explain why there are people who do not know how to do it, the only thing that i can think of, perhaps they are not taught how to do it.

If almost people don't give you respect, I'm afraid that you should determine your express on face. Because as you said " if others cannot respect you then how will you respect them."

mostly it is the president of this company doesn't give respect. hence, he is not also giving this to anybody. so i was thinking not to respect him at all. as i will just give what he gave.

I'm with you at this point,we all deserve respect in this world and no matter how old we are and where we are.Respect is like a mutual thing and thus people can be equal,i believe this is right thing to do.Don't be upset,friend.Everything is gonna pass and be fine.

yes of course, everyone needs respect accordingly. but there are really person that do not know that and it is sad to know it so. there are many reasons why a people do not have one; they thought that they are much in a higher state and that they do underestimate you. or yet, it is really in their system of their being and that is why, it seems it is natural for them to shout or like intimidating you or what is more worst is that, inconsiderate enough on what you gonna feel when they already hurt you or disrespect you at any reason or instance.

I agree people don't realize this that every one should be given respect. They do this may be because they underestimate the other people which is very wrong. we should never look down any people as every one this earth is blessed with their talents.

Respect is something to be earned, and not imposed. It is not a right, it is a privilege bestowed upon people who are worthy of it. I feel bad for those people who don't even know what respect is. They might feel better whenever they get to order people around in the most disrespectful way, like it makes them feel that they have the power, but I doubt if that will ever make them feel happy. And I believe that you reap what you sow. So if you are the kind of person who doesn't respect people, then you are not going to get any as well.

Oh yes! Respect should not be conditional.

Every human being deserves respect, whether he is young or old. But older people feel an air of superiority. They think that youngsters are junk with not a brain in their heads. So they are disrespectful towards the younger people.
But not all are like that. There are also wise people who not only respect the youngsters, but also learn a lot from the youngsters. They set their egos aside and are always willing to learn.

i will agree with you,of course everybody have the rights and deserve to be respected by other people and those who surrounding with them,regardless if what age they have and what age you have,but we can not avoid this sometimes because there are kind of people who always be like that.

I don't know what the exact reason, but I often feel the same way. I guess, some people who older is always think they are superior and deserve to do anything to the younger one. sometimes age doesn't show maturity.

I agree yes we deserve respect irrespective of our age. No matter where we live or to which country we belong or which age group that's every persons right. Hope people understand this but we can find many around us who don't have/show the minimum common sense.

You are right. We should give respect to everyone and we should get respect from others. But if we don't get respect from others it is difficult to behave respectfully to those people. But we should not be like them because what we think is wrong for others we should not do that. Our words should be soft and polite.

There are really people like that they are just rude maybe because of their environment. People especially parents must instill in the minds of their children the value of respect. Maybe just have to exercise your self control and patience with rude people.

It is really sad that there are people that are like them, especially those adults that find them superior because they are plain adults. we cannot really tell their reasons for such actions, whether it is just bitterness or there maybe reason that they have to act like that and disrespected somebody especially of younger age than them. You cant really tell.

I really agree with that. Some people are just too self-absorbed that they would rather tore someone's self-esteem to pieces than acting nicer, because that would not make them as superior. Bleh. I also hate that when elders don't respect younger just because their age, and that they've experienced the world for more years, means that the younger people should lick their feet and that their opinions don't count because they are stupider...

I agree with you, it's one of the important trait on my list, if someone doesn't know how to respect you regardless your age then don't sweat about those people. I don't understand why other people has to disrespect their fellow, respect is not something that they have to pay for, it's only simple gesture but it seems that it's a very hard thing for others to do.

I always believe in the saying that "Once there is someone who throws you a stone, throw them back a bacon" . It was being rephrase by me. lol. It means that whatever they do to me, I just stay calm and be the most patient person that I can be. They are old enough so they should know the right way to treat others most especially the younger one for them to be respected.

well, I am totally agree with you. We hear it all time from almost everyone that we have to show the respect to our elders but no one talking about showing some respect to people younger then them. if someone wants respect than he/she have to show respect to everyone as well, no matter what's your age and what's the age of the guy you talking to.
