Are there any thrift shoppers/lovers here? I have been very interested to thrift shopping because most fashonista I see, shop at thrift shops and I can see that their pieces are unique. I am just curious, to the thrift shoppers here in mylot, how do you clean or wash your thrift items? My mom and some friends discourages me to buy in thrifts.

I love shopping at thrift stores- actually just went on a thrifting haul today, haha. Personally, to make sure that the clothes I buy are (somewhat) clean and trustworthy, I only shop at thrift stores I trust such as Salvation Army, etc. I also wash any clothes I buy from there in warm water and lots of soap before I wear any of it. My advice would be to give thrifting a chance- you never know what treasures you may find!

I do thrift shopping. Mostly I buy books and other decoys, but I have also bought some clothes that even have the tags on. I would usually wash these clothes in warm water with detergent and let them dry on warm as well. Then I would press them or iron them depending if the clothing is iron-able.

I've bought a lot of clothes a couch and a lot of other things in a thrift store. I don't see anything wrong with it. Depending on what the item is I either put it in the washing machine or take it to the cleaners.

I do buy in thrift shops if ever I find something that would interests me but I have noticed that thrift shops here in my place usually sells used items at a very high price that I think is almost the same as the price of a new item.

I love thrifting. I don't see how it is more dangerous than buying clothes in a normal retail shop. Those "brand new" dresses could have been tried on by 1000 people before, some may have worn it before returning it due to a size problem. If you wash every thrifted item really carefully, or even steam them, if you're really worried, they are not going to cause problems. Especially if you look for those which are near new condition or even have the original price tag on. I like thrifting, because those pieces are really cheap, and I can make a versatile wardrobe from relatively little money. I am also not going to see the clothes I'm wearing on anyone else.
