Hi there! Any books that you highly recommend, preferably fiction? I've read John Green, Sophie Kinsella novels, as well the famous 50 shades trilogy. I just don't know what other good reads there is out there. Thanks in advance!

I have not read John Green yet. Are his books any good? And I avoided 50 Shades as I heard it was originally a fan fiction of Twilight, which I tried to read but did not finish. I really like Sophie Kinsella, she is hilarious, although I prefer her earlier Shopaholic books. Have you read Helen Fielding? I like the way she writes. Her humor is not as over the top as the Bridget Jones movies.

John Green is a great author and I personally like The Fault in Our Stars. If you're into light reading, his books are good. Though I'm not sure if his target market is the young generation. Nevertheless, I still like his books. I'm a fan of Sophie Kinsella although I didn't like her latest novel. I find it too shallow. Lol! I haven't read Helen Fielding's works. What book of hers do you recommend?

Well, I will now definitely try reading John Green and put The Fault in Our Stars on my list on goodreads. My thought on Sophie Kinsella is that the first ones were so hilarious that the latest ones were not really able to meet expectations. I tried reading her books under her real name Madeleine Wickham and they were ok but not as good too. I read Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones's Diary first, then read all her other books. She's not that prolific. But I like the way she writes and I read that she's friends with Richard Curtis and Rowan Atkinson from comedy troupe days. And I cannot wait for the third Bridget Jones book.

I agree with your Sophie Kinsella comment. The Shopaholic series is much well-written compared to her succeeding novels. I'll buy the Bridget Jones' Diary on my next visit to the bookstore. I only saw the movie so I didn't bother reading the book anymore.

Melissa Hill's Something from Tiffany's has been one of the best chic lit books I've ever read... it's on par with Confessions of a Shopaholic, which might be my fave chic lit book ever :).
