One of my bad habits is procrastinating. However, I need to change this so that I'd be more productive. I feel bad when I do this and I end up cramming but in the end I get things done on time. Do you have suggestions on how I can kick this habit? Or what are your bad habits and how were you able to kick them?

Dear friend, you are not the only one who procrastinate. Im here to give you company. I believe most of mylotters will. This is no wrong. Because we can procrastinate things until it is not too late. I'm really happy that you are finishing things on time at the end. Unless you do that dont be worrying. Only if you cant complete things on time, you need to start kicking procrastination. So friend, lets live the happy way we wanted than thinking over postponed things. Agree me na?

Yes friend! Who else like to be in that must do situation!?! Really we can do the same relaxed if we dont procrastinate. Only thing is that we have to make up mind to do the thing. I believe this will be the only solution for this. Hope we do adjust out minds. Have a happy time friend!!!

I received an award for the worlds best procrastinator. I was so proud I won something. Wanted to hang it up on the wall but it sits in a moving box downstairs. Maybe someday I will get around to it, I moved about ten years ago I think. I find for me it is mostly to do with motivation and motivation has to do with passion I guess. In school I really wanted to get a good mark and did because I spread the work out, did a little each night and accomplish more. Maybe it was because I really liked the teacher.

Best Procrastinator Award? I'm confused if this is actually "positive or negative" thing to receive. Haha! Congrats anyway!

An award? Or are you being sarcastic? hihi! I used to do that for school.. It does pay off when you think about it that way. :D However, more often than not, I just am not in the mood to be productive. Maybe I'm really just too lazy. errrr. need to change this. x_x

i have so many bad habits, i don't know where to begin. lol. one of my habits is the same as yours. i procrastinate. like you, i get things done at the end with a lot of stress. what we should be doing is a little bit of what we don't want to do at a time. occasionally, i will get things done early. when i do, i notice that once i get started i get finished. i find that the stress is less and i feel better that the task is not hanging over my head.

I know that feeling. Such a relief, right? It's lovely to get your tasks done on time without the pressure. I hope we can both be like this more, so we can save ourselves from our stressful episodes brought about by procrastinating. x_x

This is also one of the problems I could never fixed in myself. Although, like you I do finish things in time, I still hate the fact that I have to wait for the last minute before I start panicking and cram. I don't think it's something I can fix immediately, because I have really tried. I think I have a dangerously high level of indolence in me, which I think is the root of this problem and that's one thing I have to fix too.

I can't say I have really tried... Yikes. But I do get to finish things on time even though I work under pressure. Maybe I'm sued to it already? But still, I know it's wrong. :( I hope for the both of us that we can work out our thing with procrastination so we would no longer feel pressured about it. x_x Thanks for sharing!

I also tend to procrastinate. And I hate it but there are times that I just can't avoid it. I know it's bad, so I ended up getting a Filofax to attempt some sort of organization in my life. I would make a list each day and I make sure to follow through my list and check out whatever's done. If there's anything that I didn't finish, I will write it down again the following day. Once it has gotten too long of a list to fit in one day's space only Filofax, then I would know I have delayed doing some stuff too long and I better pull my act together.

I have a planner, the one for a year... Yes, each day I write down my tasks and scratch it out, more like strikethrough it... and it makes me feel good. When I see I have some spare hours the next day though... I just kind of give into rest so easily. I need more self discipline. :( I don't write it down though, I just look at what I left over from yesterday and start from that.. :) But you know, that makes sense.. Seeing the list lengthen would make me feel how much more work I need to accomplish. Should try that. Thanks a lot for this idea!

Hi Raine, would just like to express my thanks because your response reminded me of how I should manage my time better and how the simple act of crossing out tasks I have completed can help me get things straightened out. I started doing this again today and it worked really well. Thank you! :D

I work on the hardest things first so I'd feel better and better as I go... :) It still sucks though, because sometimes I wait for my mood to be productive for so long I end up so stressed with stuff. The procrastinating and sitting around definitely catches up. x_x

Every single person here has bad habits and I'm sure of this. For me, I have a lot that needs to be changed and some of these habits are on the way to 'change', hopefully. Haha! One thing to kick this is to make a very realistic schedule, and when changing something, it is important to do it "gradually/little by little" so as not to make yourself very uncomfortable. I did this several times and it worked.

My bad habit is not keeping my bedroom clean, I will drop paper, on the floor and then not pick it up, and then my room is a total mess, and then I don't feel like cleaning my room, but when I start cleaning my room, it looks really great after I get it all done.

The looking great when you clean it sounds really nice. :D I don't like having pieces of paper or trash around, so cleaning my room isn't a problem... My work desk tends to look like a mess though. But I HATE it when someone tries to be "kind" and fix it for me. I can't find my stuff! @_@
