Over here in Asia, St. Patrick's Day is celebrated as a day for drinking alcohol. It is a commercial celebration for bars and pubs to sell more alcohol. Who and where do people celebrate St. Patrick's Day in their homes or in the community? What do people do on this day?

Unfortunately in my country (Hungary) St. Patrick's Day isn't that celebrated. I don't miss drinking, but that vibe and athmosphere I see when I read reports about this day all over the world... wearing green, having fun together... that seems cool.

Yeah, it is funny to see everything in green. Is that how people celebrate in tradition? What was the original intent of the celebration? I feel that it has become too commercialized, just like October Fest.

I don't necessarily celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but I definitely see people going to the bars. There are parades, and the schools celebrate with the children. I think it's great for everyone to celebrate holidays that may not be unique to them or are of another culture. It helps to open our minds.
