Dont you think whatsapp has shut doors of SMS MMS and BBM

Well i still use sms to text my friends and other people as i find it extremely easy to stay connected with them. I know there has been a lot of discussions regarding whatsapp taking over the sms service but the disadvantage of whatsapp is that u need to have a net connection intact throughout the day and a possession of android service is a must that is not available with everyone.
