I was one of those parents that took their children to the school house. I never did trust any school bus drivers that my children were on. So do you know the school bus driver that is driving your children to school? I see this school bus driver and he drives faster then we do on dirt roads! So how fast is the driver drivining your children ? If I had children still in school I wouldn't want them to ride with half the school bus drivers I see on these dirt roads. I was just wondering if you know or even care who the school bus driver is that your child is riding with. It bothers me to see how fast some of them are going down roads that it isn't safe to go too fast on. Do you know the driver of your childs school bus? Do you know how fast they drive down some of these roads? Do you ask your children how the school bus driver is doing with them on the school bus?

I thankfully did not have to put my kids on a school bus when they were young. They either walked and then when they were older would go on the public bus. Now my granddaughter is being homeschooled so no bus for her either. It is very scary how some bus drivers drive recklessly with kids on the bus and no seatbelts. Thoses buses shoud have seatbelts. I will never understand how or why they don't. How safe can they ever be even if someone hits the bus. Thoses kids will go flying.

Hi Lelin. It is good that your granddaughter don't have to ride a school bus especially these days I have seen so many stupid bus drivers it scares me for the children. That is something I have always wondered about why no seatbelts on the bus that is carrying the most precious thing we as parents can have, our children. I seen a couple of months ago a bus that got hit and 11 children were hurt only one pretty bad. I thank God that my children are all grown . I never put them on the bus when they were going to school I didn't trust the bus drivers back then with my childs life then either.

If it is a good school they would generally hire a good responsible driver. And, trust me just because a driver is going fast doesn't mean he doesn't know his way around his vehicle. That is actually why you hire a trained driver. To make it in time without having an accident. There is also the speed limit which he/she can not exceed. So I think it is perfectly fine to trust the driver. But i also understand your concern we are all worried about our little ones and you have every right to do whatever you want that relates to his/her being safe.

Hi Rock. I know that the bus drivers have a time to get to where they need to go but this is way too fast to drive on dirt roads that have pot holes and creeks that rise way too high to pass through them safely. I thank God my children are all grown but it is still a concern for the saftey for the children on this bus. I think going 50 down a one lane dirt road is way too fast for anyone to drive. Even our post man drives at high speeds down these dirt roads and I have seen him in an accident on a road that has really steep up and down hills. It just plain worries me for the saftey of these children on his bus. I just needed to hear from others that have worries about children . I know several school bus drivers and none of them travel this fast on dirt roads.

I can understand why you would be concerned with the driver of the school bus as you are entrusting them with the safety of your children especially if they drive how you say.I don't think I would be to concerned with a child of mine travelling on a school bus in the UK.This is because from what I have seen they seem to drive pretty carefully. And because my Dad worked for a company that provided buses for schools the drivers are unlikely to be dodgy as to drive school children around you have to have a criminal records check.Though I suppose with everything in life there are going to be risks but I think its an acceptable risk.Though I couldn't really say for certain as I don't have any Children.

for me i think its better to know first the driver of the school bus before i let my child ride on it,because it is important to know first the driver of the school bus for the security of our child and we surely know that our child is secure in the road.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand your problem very much and as a parent, u must be worried about your children's security especially while traveling in school buses. To be very honest, it depends on the drivers and how they drive. But still it is a better option to use school service. What say?

Hi Subhojit. I thank God all my children are grown. I don't think I would have ever put my child on a school bus if I had seen this driver while my children were in school. Honestly he was going 50 or better on a dirt road that I know has been messed up pretty bad in the past. I am not worried about my children I worry about the children on the school buses these days.
