I really hate this brown outs.

Just in time when I'm about to post my comments to a discussion, this momentary brown outs occurred. It's just okay if it's for an hour or two but it only lasted for seconds. It happened twice just an hour ago, so when the line came back I have to retype again my comments. We have not experienced brown outs during the past months, so I guess it's just a trip off. How about you guys, have you experienced the same kind of problem before while doing mylot?

Here in India it is a regular feature which we call load shedding. I have a Home UPS which takes care of our tv, lights, fans and also the computer. Sometimes myLot plays up and to take care of that the moment I type I copy it, so I can paste it if my earlier effort has gone kaput!

Sometimes we are not given any notice but this hOME UPS comes to our rescue. There are inverters too that take care of just the fans, tv and LIGHTS but the Home UPS takes care of the pc ALSO. I hardly notice when the current goes off because of the Home UPS.

So in your place the company had resorted to rationing, maybe because the demand of electrical power is more than what the company can provide for their customers. I guess it's more better that way because you may know when the power will be cut off. Yes, having an UPS is of great help especially during brown outs. I also do copy and pasting when mylot have loading problems but if it's power that goes off and on it would be a problem.

So, you are really prepared for any eventualities. If you can afford to have this back ups why not, I just hope that they are not costly. I guess I have to start saving now, so I can buy those things too.

Luckily, we have not experienced any fluctuation with the electricity. But sometimes, it is the internet provider that goes off. Well, it doesn't last long, just a few second of being out of service then it's fine. It is really annoying that just about I hit submit, then I get disconnected. But atleast it is just when doing discussions or chatting at Facebook. It could be really a bug turn off if I was in the middle of a meeting for an online collaboration! That has happened to me before, and everytime it happens, I really feel ashamed coz my boss might think that I am such a poor person that could not afford to have a good internet connection!I was then using Sun Cellular's Plug in Broadband. It no longer allowed me to use Skype. And so I have changed my internet provider. Smart Wimax has faster connectivity and cleared video on Skype.

Yes and it mostly happens during dry season, maybe because most consumers uses electricity and the results would be power supply shortage. Anyway, it's been weeks now and we have not experienced any. I just hope it will be for long.

Yes, I guess it's very different from the city wherein most big establishment and commerce is present. Right now, I'm here in the province and it's really a sacrifice most of the time especially those who have business to run. Anyway, regarding my internet connection here I have not experienced any problem yet.

I do hope that the crisis in the electricity would be resolved in your province soon. I have experienced having those brownouts in the early 90's. And with this season, it could really be frustrating to be all damped coz of the heat.

There has been a black out- a real one while i was mylotting... but then we cannot really do anything about it.. All we can do is just wait for the electricity to be fixed or something then spend the time thinking of something else that using he appliances.

Yes, if this happens we have more time to unplug our PC but if it's just for seconds it will be most annoying because we have no enough time to pull the plug. Anyway, I just hope the power will be back soon, so you can go back on your mylotting.

I hate those kind of power interruptions. It is the kind that messes up electronic gadgets especially those that has to be plugged in all the time. I hate that everything's got to reset: the modem, TV, fax machine, fridge, DVD player, computers, etc.

Yes, it's really bothersome if we experienced this kind of problems. If something like this happens, it gave us no time to unplug them so as to prevent any damages it may have caused. I think it's time for me to buy UPS as a precaution.

Yes, it's really advisable to have an UPS especially in countering the effects it might cause to our computer due to power interruption. This gives us time to unplug our PC just in case.

Hi, We are already using UPS for protecting our PC from power interruptions. Before we had many problems with our PC. Our hard disk is burnt, sometimes our ram has damaged, sometimes SMPS had burnt. And this all because of power interruption. Now our computer is working smoothly because of UPS. We also have here many times power cut.

It happened again today, it's good that it is a bit longer not like the other day which lasts only for seconds. Not giving enough time to unplugged the unit first. It's good that you are using a laptop, anyway I just hope it won't happen again.

No I have not had any brown outs, here where I live, I know this has got to be bad when your power goes out and you have to wait for it to come back on, when my power goes out it means, some one here hasn't paid, the cable bill.

Oh I see, It's good that your provider is very dependable. It's really annoying when this happens, especially if it's only for seconds. It could badly damage our appliances because we don't have time to unplug it first before it goes on again. Anyway, we are updated with regards to paying our bills, the only problem is their services.

Yes, it's so annoying I also experienced this situation and that really irritates me. I can't post or write the same message/response again- I mean, sometimes if my reply is too long I can't retype the whole content again

We are caught off guard when something like this happens. It could cause great damage to our computer and other appliances if this thing continuous. I just hope next time it would be longer so I would have ample time to unplug it first, but I guess no one could ever tell if the cause is power trip off.

Good day bhaby, yeah it's really annoying if something like this happens just to be back seconds after. Not having time to unplug it first for safety reasons. Yes having written it on ms words is a good practice especially in cases like this. Anyway, I just hope if ever there is power cut again it would be longer so I have time to unplug it.

I am saving lots of money so kind afford a solar energy system, not only to help mother nature, save money and last but not the least, to avoid energy shortage. Just like you I hated blackouts and brownouts with a passion, specially when its boring because you have no electricity and most of the modern day entertainment relies on electricity and also when its summer and its very hot, its hard to sleep without air conditioner or electric fan.
• Philippines

Putting up your own solar energy is a bit costly but if you can afford the better. This brownouts is really draining our patience but we just have to learn to live with it as of now. They are getting rich at our expense because of the high cost they charged us but their services are getting worst.

I noticed that brownouts are frequent here in our country especially this summer? I wonder why? In my case, when there is a brownout and when electricity resumes, I can open the recently closed tab for me to do my thing that I am doing in the computter before the power interruption.

Yes, it's very common problem in our country aside from the fact that their charges are much higher. But there are consequences if the interruption lasts only for seconds and frequently, it may cause damage to our units. Yes, we can restore the site we are before when this happens but the thing is, if we have written something and was about to post it, all will be gone.
