Hi Friends, Have you tried to buy products online from foreign countries like China or US? Do you need to clear the products from customs? Earlier I used to by from ebay items around $5 and didn't face any issue. But I am not sure about customs formalities when the cost of the item goes high. If you have any experience or information, please share it with me. Thanks

I did not have any experience with having to buy online form another country. But my brother in law did. He bought spare parts of his motorcycle via ebay. And since it cost him about $500, he told me that there were other charges incurred.

If you don't buy in large quantity, the risk is lower. However it depends on luck sometimes, Custom don't go thriugh every package.

actually i still never had a try to buy product from that country by online or even not online, maybe they will charge a little bit of the price but its just for the shipping only and not because of the type of the product or where it come from.

In buying items directly from abroad what you are paying is the cost of the item plus transportation cost not to mentioned the landed cost. This procedure of the custom personnel is to defend the interest of the local businessman of unfair trade competition.
