. . . I remember the days when I was a student. It was fun, exciting, sad, nerve-wracking then it goes to fun, fun, fun!!! I was watching a TV series last night and a father was talking to his son about school. He mentioned this to encourage his son on his studies. "I want you to succeed in life. In order to do this you have to be first in class. If you cannot, you have to be smarter than the others. If it is still not working, cheat." HAHAHA!!! I love being a student. There are times that I am first in class. My teachers and classmates say I am smarter though not the smartest. I believe them so I study hard and do my homework all the time. While I was trying to remember my school days, I asked myself if I ever cheated. HAHAHA! Yes. I cheated. I just don't know when. I mean, is it in elementary (primary), high school or in college/university days. In my opinion since I cannot remember the exact time I guess I did it once or I wasn't caught at all. Just sharing what we do things to be successful. BE FIRST. BE SMARTER. CHEAT!

Agreed. It's going to be almost impossible to not cheat in the type of competitive climate we are in against each other and others across the world.

Hi Maria. I agree with you. It's part of everyone's school life. Take care my friend. Thanks for joining the discussion. Hi MexKing. Welcome to mylot. I hope you enjoy being here. You are absolutely right. We are in a competitive world that even though we are not in school, we cheat in any way to survive. Have a great day!

I can honestly say I don't think I ever cheated. I either excepted my fate to fail or I worked really hard to pass. I never wanted to take the easy way out. I believed in working hard for my grades, and if I didn't work for them I felt that I didn't deserve to pass. I actually didn't have to study much if I paid attention in class because I was pretty good at absorbing information. I had people copy off of my papers or I was the one everyone looked to for help. I'm not saying I'm a genius by any means, but I definitely wasn't dumb either, I just felt that cheating wasn't the right way to go about anything. Pass or fail I'm going to do it by my own merits. I do know what you mean though. I think a lot of people have cheated. It's just something I never did because of my own morals. Not to say I'm perfect, it's just the way I felt about it. I think that is pretty funny though. I think I may have seen that show, for some reason it sounds familiar.

I don't judge others based on decisions they have made. I knew people that cheated. I mean I understand the temptation. Everyone wants to pass, even if they don't necessarily deserve to. I was just willing to accept my fate (I used the wrong word up there accepted not excepted, it has been bugging me! Never respond to a discussion while tired!)but many others aren't. I was always willing to help others study or show them how to do something if they would ask rather than just give them the answer. By giving the answer you're not really helping them. I had people that looked off my paper, but I really hated when they did that, but I was always a push over and hated being mean, but I usually tried to help them if I could rather than just giving them the answer. I think people who cheat often don't meet their true potential, because I think with a little help almost everyone can do better. When you cheat that often means you aren't learning what you should, and therefore not doing your best. I think people are capable of so much more than they give themselves credit. People just need to try harder. While yes some people have an easier time learning things, others are still capable of more. Some just have to work harder, and that's ok. It just means they are willing to put the work in to succeed, and that's a good quality to have. While I don't judge, I do encourage hard work to reach ones true potential. Cheating hardly ever gets you where you want in life, and when it does it's not going to feel much like a victory. I guess that's the biggest reason I have never cheated, and where my morals come from on that certain subject.

. Cheating is indeed bad. But there are some instances that students like me were not able to control the temptation. Good for you that you have that ability. When I was younger I could do the same. I also excel but I really don't know the exact reason why I cheated. . I try my best to remember . . . I am curious and guilty.

I admire people who stand by their convictions and to their morals as well... Their type are really a rarity in this world... I think that it's unfair though to burn all your candles while studying while others are what you say smart and just cheat. this is the situation I was into when I was in high school so I also cheated! It's part of a student life.. But I would not recommend it to my kids.. Let them deal with it when they are faced with that situation...

I was an average student from Grade School till High School. I remember cheating during my Algebra and Physics quizzes. I really dreaded those subjects. And I guess that for a certain time in a student's life, he/she would also think of using some cheat notes just to pass a subject. Well, I was no angel! There were times that I would really make those cheat notes to give me confidence in taking the exams. Although I rarely used them, but I did. It was a whole new me when I was in College. I had almost flat 1.0's in my grades. And I am proud of it coz I really study real hard coz I love the science subjects. And that made me popular among my classmates since they find it hard to deal with General/Oral Anatomy, Physiology/ Oral Medicine and Periodontics, Biochemistry, General/Oral Pathology. While most of my classmates hated the subjects I mentioned, they were my FAVORITES!

. Wow! I could say you are good. The subjects you mentioned are hard. You need to remember a lot of facts and with physiology and pathology on the sides ... They are heavy stuff. Good for you! I anatomy and physiology too back in college. And I am one of the students who hated these subjects. My gosh... Not my favorites!

. You are just sane. When I just newly graduate, when I talk about body and health I usually use medical terminologies, it was a kind of become a habit and other people I know will say "layman's terms please". Good thing you didn't become a geek, at least a met you here.

. Thank you for that reminder. We may have cheat during our student life, it is not good to cheat our mother and father. Right now I could not remember if I cheated them. I must recollect and reflect.

this remind me of my days in high school, the first time I cheated during an examination was when I was absent from school for a few days and was unprepared for the test. Good thing my classmate/friend is good in cheating she open her notebook under the table and scan it with her feet to read the right answers. I was so nervous, I'm glad the teacher was a little old and has a problem with her eye sight. It was kind of exciting though. I also tried answering a test paper for a classmate, haha :), these are 2 of the few things I love about high school. They are crazy but memorable.

. It's fun but future-threatening. Hhahaha. I remember now I have answered a test paper too for a friend in the university. It was in my first year and she hated "logistics". Oh, well,. I remember her now. I'll keep in touch with her thru Facebook, thanks for sharing.

welcome, When I was in college I started to take my education very seriously and never dared to cheat and answer test paper of others anymore. At the time I thought, my parents are paying too much for my education just to mess around. That's why when I was forced to stop attending college, I was so disappointed and hurt. Pfff. Bad memories.. .

Well, we all did have this episode some time in our lives...And we have either learned from it or not. What does it really take for one to be successful? I read a book called Rich Dad, Poor Dad (sorry forgot the author)...it was a realization for me :) I hope you get to read it too :)

. I could not agree more. Almost all students I think have done this. Ok. I will try to look for that book. Now, i am trying to finish reading "Moms, How Are You Doing?" By Carolyn Buss. It''s a book written by a Christian mom, pianist, teacher and wife of a pastor.

To be first in class and to be smarter, i would agree to that, my father use to always tell me to do my best and try to always excel, " aim high so when you miss you would be always near your target that's why i always give my 100% to everything i do no matter how difficult it may seem to this day, but to cheat??, sorry but personally for me,getting good grades and staying on top is only secondary to being morally good and upright, I did not even care if i was in danger of failing but to go down fighting on my own is all i put value on just like what my parents taught and by God's grace i always passed even if i had to crawl sometimes, values that i think i still carry to this day and pass on to my children( not trying to be self righteous or anything, just sharing what i was taught and what i am)

. No worries friend. We are all here to share. I know there are exceptional people. If you are one of them you do not have to worry or be sorry for being following what is right. I seldom see or meet people who stand by their words. I admire you for not being tempted even you have to crawl to get where ever you are now. Kudos to you my friend!
