Do i cut my splits or not?

I want lenght of my hair, but the thing is that whenever splits comes i cut them, few days ago more splits appear than i again cut them, this what makes my hair lenght short. But if i let my splits there this what makes lenght of my hair. What should i do should i cut my splits or let it be there, though i want long lenght of my hair.
