Do you feel it is a hard work to be stay-at-home mom?

I stayed at home during 1 and half year to take care of my two young kids. I find out there is more work to do at home than just sitting down in office. So sometimes I think some people say the guys work hard to bring money home and the wife stayed home to enjoy. I really don't agree with that.....well ...while you have to stay home to take care of the kids and the all the cooking and cleaning stuff at home....this job is much more exhausting than sitting down in office with a cup of hot coffee at home.....

I'm a stay at home mom myself. Yes it's a lot harder then going o work and doing a desk job or what ever a guy has to do as a working job. I spend most of my day taking care of my kids. Some I was cleaning but normally I wait till they are in bd before cleaning.but I spend the day ruining after them, feeding them making sure they don't irritate each other to much, change there clothes and chandler dirty diapers or pull ups all day along.it canbe quite exhausting.

I'm not a mother, but I know that stay at home moms have a hard job. They wake up early prepare breakfast, change their children, make sure their children wash their teeth, take them to school, clean up, etc. I don't agree that moms just stay home and enjoy. In a normal job you would just go and work in an office for 8 hours and then return home.

It is MUCH more difficult to stay home with the kids than to go out to work! I was a secretary for 2 years, and that job was WAY easier than being home. Being a stay at home mother is a 24 hour job 7 days a week. NO breaks, NO sick days, No vacation time, etc... It is all the time, non stop! That is a big difference from going out to work. I Home School my children, I take care of the house, I have a Childcare Business in my home, etc, I have a TON of work I do at home! My husband knows better than to tell me he has it rough!!! Whenever he forgets about how hard MY job is, I ask him if he wants to switch with me and he very quickly remembers how tough my job is!

I agree. People have the tendency to look down on stay-at-home moms, feeling sorry for them for not having a career. But this is a really difficult job. There's so much to take care of amd its not just the kids. Being a stay-at-home mom is a full time job, with no leave or breaktime.

the person who said that "the wife stays at home to enjoy" should have his ears boxed. LOL the mother has to wake up early to prepare breakfast for the family. she has to prepare the children for school. when they're all gone, she needs to clean the house, wash the dishes, do the laundry, iron clothes, go to the market, etc. if there is a baby at home, she has to do these chores while the baby is sleeping. when the children come back from school, she has to help them with their homework and cook dinner for the family. if someone says that these chores are not tiring, then that person is lying. one advantage of the stay at home mom is that she can supervise her children better. she will be able to take more care of them. she will be there to share her baby's laughter and tears.
