They wont be wasted at all. If you are a bit more active you can make a lot more per day. A nice trick that I like is to respond to discussions I like and read the responses and respond to those both in my topics and others especially if I am rather passionate about a subject. After all, the point is to have a conversation with different people on different subjects at least how I understood it. :)
