Today afternoon and after a long time, I watched again this movie with some famous actors like Leonardo DiCaprio and Gérard Depardieu. I really love this film and the music which escorts the scenes during the almost two hours. It contains all important points: action, romanticism, politics, ideals, history and jokes.
Do you have seen that movie? Which is your favorite one?

I have seen the man with the iron mask a couple of times on TV. I liked it a lot. As for action movies with romance and all the trimmings, I prefer the first movie of Zorro, with Antonio Banderas ans Catherine Zeta Jones.

Zorro is also a great movie. I have seen an older version when I still was a child (so long time ago), but I don't remember the version with Antonio Banderas and CZJ. Maybe I should hire this movie to get it seen too. With these actors, I believe that it will be a great film to see.

The movie is great and Antonio Banderas is at his best as attraction goes. There`s an awesome fight with swords between him and Catherine Zeta Jones that has become a classic.

This movie is based on the novel of same name if i am not wrong.It as very entertaining movie with my favorite actors like Leo and Malkovich.I don't want to give any spoilers but what more can you ask from a movie, a cruel king, a dark secret,three musketeers returning to finish off one last job,best wishes.

The three musketeers are a great sample for value, leadership and unity. It's a story I also love a lot! Malkovich is also a great actor and has done a well job, he had a big role in this film.

Not yet.. although a lot of my friends have suggested it to me.. I just feel lazy to look it up and download it. 
And it is not that famous too, plus it had bad reviews..and it is not a romance movie. 
Although i do love the costumes.. isn't this movie just about the twins?

I have seen this movie, i like it, why? Because i like to see the royal life in the Baroque period, which i think the peak period of beautiful Arts. And the man in the iron mask was based from the true story, it was a prisoner arrested as
Eustache Dauger in 1669 or 1670, and
held in a number of jails, including
the Bastille and the Fortress of
Pignerol (today Pinerolo)
And remains as mystery until today, about who really was the man in the iron mask. Some say it was the half brother of king Louis XIV, some say it was king Louis XIV twin brother, even some say it was illegitimate son of king Louis XIV, no one ever know who he was since no one ever see his face.

It's interesting, I never investigated the story. I knew that King Louis XIV existed and that France passed through a time when people weren't insatisfied. But, I never looked for if the french king had a brother and if a man in an iron mask existed. The movie says already at the beginning: part of the film is true and part is based on a legend. Anyway and as you well said, it's based on a period of beautiful arts.
