pepsi wanted to build their brand name in india. remember india has 1.2 billion population means 1.2 billion customers. so even if pepsi can catch atleast 10% of this population then they will be a leading brand in india. so now how to attract this vast indian population, what is common with this 1.2 billion population. its simple its nothing but cricket. cricket links the people of this country. cricket is like a religion in india. so pepsi had made a decision to reach the people through this binding factor. and remember ipl is not just popular in india, it is popular in all cricket playing nations,so its a very wise decision for an international brand like pepsi to become the title sponser of ipl. so according to me its definitely worth to sponsor such a big event like ipl.
