People who just cannot think that there is anybody better then them in the world

I see some people around me who seem to be of the impression that are so perfect that no one around them can match them let alone better them.To talk about one, there is this teacher of mine who thinks so highly of himself that he does not even behave properly with his colleagues.
Half of the time he is bragging about his knowledge and achievements and the other half he spends on telling us how unworthy all the other teachers are when compared to him.
I have always believed that Self-respect is essential for a man to be successfull in life but it does not take long for self respect to change into arrogance and arrogance often makes a wise man change into a fool.
Would love to know what you all think about such people...

Many people are this way. I live with one daily. Its impossible to correct someone who thinks they're always right. Its also like talking to a wall because they won't hear anything you say, they just give their opinion over yours and it didn't even matter what you said.
I've foudn ignoring the person I live with doesn't work either. I don't knwo what will work to make him shut up and stop spouting off at the mouth with his foolish bantering. Its constant!

i saw your post on my response. LOL why don't you buy ear plugs and use them when he starts his blah.. blah.. blah? you should also let him know that you're using them so it's better to plug them on when he's looking at you. if he doesn't understand the meaning of this...

I'm sure he would get the idea! That's funny, but, I wouldn't want to be that rude even though, his talking is too rude! I try to talk to him sometimes but most of the time just have no idea what to say.

I agree with you, arrogant people are fools. No one is better than anyone. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. We are all people and therefore no one is better than anyone else...

Oh please keep them away from me. I can't stand people who brag and feel they are perfect. No one in this world is perfect. Everyone has something wrong with them. I don't care if you are the President of the United States or a harvard grad. I wonder how people like this get their arrogance from and think its ok to be like that. I can't deal with people who feel they are perfect and needs to be the center of attention. I could not deal with having a teacher like him. Does anyone try to challenge him or put him in his place?

That's why Emotional Quotient is more important that Intelligence Quotient. There are so many smart people out there, but they don't have the attitude to go with it. That's really ashamed. I have many friends like that and that makes them look fool to me. It's really hard to balance the IQ and EQ but when someone can make it, it must be amazing.
Your teacher is lack in EQ and that makes him not smart at all. I hope he meets with someone who is so much better than him and knocks him in the face!

i find conceited and arrogant people annoying. i don't like listening to persons who belittle others. those who do this may excel in many aspects of their lives but they certainly lack one important virtue - HUMBLENESS. in order to live harmoniously with the others, it is important that we have this trait.

i think theres no such thing as perfect.
people who think they are perfect have issues they think there better then everybody else but in truth they know that there not better
you can be good at something and find that there is always someone better then you
so theres no such thing as a perfect person it annoys me too when people say they can do things better
when i was in school i used to be awful at maths and the top person of maths in my school used to take the mick and then someone new had started our school in the class and was better then him at maths it wiped the smile straight off his face

I think some people like this way and think that nobody is better than them. I have also come across some people who tells that they are best and also some people who thinks that no one is better than themselves. I also think that arrogance makes wise man to fool and I think it is always good to have good people who show respect to others.

It takes all sort to make up this world so I'm not surprised you have come across a braggard. These people are not well liked either by another of his own kind (the arrogant kind). My advice is not to let him get the attention which he craves. So stay away from him and you should be fine. Someday this sort of persons will come down to earth when they realised why so many people are avoiding them. Just my thoughts. Have a good day.

It is very difficult to be around people like that. I find it so irritating when people are always talking about themselves far behind the normal. It is good to have self respect but we shouldn't take it to the extreme that we think we are above everybody else.

Hi friend, you are right. We must be confident about our self and get pride about our achievements. But too much of confidence and pride will give some unwanted results. Each and every one is unique and have their own skills and talents. No one is talented in all the fields as well as know about each and every thing. Surely your teachers activity is not good. Hope he will stop this after realizing his mistake

lol! i know how you feel. i am very annoyed whenever there are "so-perfect" people around me treating themselves like God's. they dont care on how you feel. and for them, everything they do and say is always right.

they need to wake up no one on this earth is perfect and never will be and yes I even know a few of this type of people but I refuse to even talk to them at all till they get off there high horse
