My sister who live in other city just call me and tell me that her son was sick. She brings him to the doctor and the doctor says that my nephew suffer typhus, but his body does not experience fever, his body's temperature is normal. As far as I know, typush always accompanied with fever. Three years ago, my daughter also suffers typush and her fever reached 39 degrees celcious. I think what happen to my nephew is strange. Hi mylotters, do you ever find typush without fever?

Hi, It is sad that your nephew had typus. I never heard this name before. But it may be typhoid. Some people have the good immune power and so they can have less symptom of disease. How is your nephew now? I wish he will get well soon.

Typhus is carried by lice, fleas, ticks or mites, not by the water you drink, etc. The enteric diseases are called typhoid and paratyphoid. I don't know which one you mean, S, but the others seem to assume it's typhoid. Typhoid can occur with reduced symptoms if there's already some partial resistance. On the other hand Shigella Sonni, a form of dysentery, generally occurs without fever.
