the number of online education offerings has exploded in recent years, but their rapid rise has spawned a critical question- can scuh virtual classes cut through the maze of distractions -- such as email, the internet and television--that student sitting at their computer?

I don't think online education can be a comprehensive replacement for traditional classroom education. However it can be used as a supportive element for classroom education.if we could use virtual tools in education we can obviously increase the depth of standard curriculum by means of internet and other IT related tools.

I think it depends on the students, if they are very willing and dedicated to learning then they will avoid those distractions and focus on the lessons. I think virtual learning is good since a lot of people cannot afford to go to a real school.

I actually agree to that, learning online since a lot of people have access to computer, but some are lazy to go to school -so this will be good for them. Although it really depends on each person on what he or she will prioritize more- the parents can block the distracting sites though.
