Watching the same type of shows

I find myself watching the same type of shows, such as crime type shows. I usually watch the same shows to be honest such as COPS, The First 48. But when I get to watch it at work, I will try and watch something new like Las Vegas Strip. I wondering how many tend to watch the same type of shows or interests.

at home I do not have cable and I watch whatever my husband wants to watch. At work I watch game shows with the clients and then when they are in bed I watch shows on HGTV, like house hunters and income property shows. I also like cooking shows on public television.

Ricki and Gerty, how do you get to watch TV shows at work? I'd like that kind of job. The only places I've been to lately that have TV are McDonald's and the dentists office.

It's not surprising that you tend to watch the same type of shows. That's because you LIKE watching the type of shows you're viewing. Nothing wrong with that except that if you become addicted and you spent a considerable amount of your time watching TV instead of doing what you need to do. Have a nice day.

When its just me, I watch the cooking channel and HGTV, which my daughter calls my guilty pleasures, as they help me with with cooking tips and things to change around the house. I do enjoy watching several shows like Blue Bloods, Person Of Interest, Revolution and a couple more. Most of the week there is a show that is on my don't miss shows and some are on at the same time unfortunately.

I used to watch the CSI's and criminal minds as well as NCIS but now it's mostly just NCIS. I did like SVU at one time but not so much anymore. I do tend to watch the same shows / genre. I think it has a lot to do with the channel their own. You know you turn the channel to your fave show and either it's not on or you keep it on the same channel because something interested you.. that's how I got a lot of my interests now (in shows).

I sometimes have had a tendency to watch shows that are off shoots of other shows. For example I watched all the Stargates and all the StarTreks. I like Sci Fi but there never seems to be enough of it. I also watched all the Law and Orders except for Criminal Intent when Jeff Goldblum was on it. When I had BBC America I used to watch Law and Order: UK but part of my reason for that was to see how many scripts they reworked from the original show. I don't always watch spins offs though. For example, I watch NCIS but I'm not as much into NCIS: LA. I've only watched the CSI's sporadically. Also I watched House but never watch any other medical dramas. Of course, the other shows don't have Hugh Laurie. One type of show I try to avoid is reality TV. COPS is one of the few reality shows that is not staged. What amazed me is that the people on the show sign release forms so that their faces can be shown. The last thing I would want is to be shown getting arrested on TV.
