Problem with WiFi

Hello mylotter I need help. My smartphone is Sony Xperia Tipo. I try to connect WiFi at my brother house. When I click connect it say obtaining ip address. I search in google to solve this problem and it say connect but I still cannot surf internet. It say unable to connect. How I can use WiFi in my Sony Xperia Tipo?

How many people are using the wifi during that time? COz sometimes, if there are a lot of people are already using the the connection, it is hard to get through it.

It is fast and don't have problem when I use laptop to connect internet with WiFi. I think the problem is with android phone not because a lot of people using WiFi. That is my brother WiFi at his house.
