I am a Civil Engineering graduates from the NIT Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. Currently I am working as an Ast. Professor of an Engineering college, in my own hometown. I am interested in traveling the India and the abroad, but I want to work along with the traveling. I have good concepts in the Civil engineering field, so if there is a good opportunity for the Civil engineer in your area, I would love to visit those paddy fields. I have the knowledge of the Irrigation Engineering too, and I know that it is the paddy crop which requires the maximum water for its good growth. Ii love to study the Engineering behind the things and I also love to teach.

Hello Sanjay,Kuttanad is mainly a tourist destination and I don't think many job opportunities are available here. You will be able to find jobs in Cochin or Trivandrum but I doubt that I can help you out to find them.I have only a little knowledge of the Engineering field and I don't have many connection in this field to find out whether or not there is currently any Jobs. available. However If I happen to know about any engineering jobs near our place I will surely let you know.

Thanks for the reply. What is the main attraction of this tourist place? I have visited only the Pune and Dadar Railway station in the south India. Is there any meaning of the word "Kuttanand"?

For years I have fancied visiting Kerala in India. I believe that it is a lot less touristy than Goa. I think the paddy fields look really beautiful, Rice terraces must look lovely too. I like to eat long grain white rice. I should really eat wholemeal rice and I will give that a try some time. If I went to Kerala I would see the palm fringed beaches and the relaxing back waters.

Goa is for visitors and Kerala is for travelers. Generally almost persons want to visit places to see and enjoy. Persons interested in travelling are giving priority to experience the journey than enjoyments.

Yes,in comparison with Goa Kerala is yet to explode as a tourists destination. However I can assure you that Kerala is definitely set to explode as one of the major tourists attractions in India for years to come. You should give it a try sometime in the future,I am sure you won't be disappointed at all.You must visit Kuttanad if you come to India,I think Kerala's backwater tourism has a definite edge over beach tourism. You must find the houseboat journeys and kuttanadan dishes interesting. If you need any more Info on the subject you can check out the official page of Kerala tourism department. http://www.keralatourism.org/destination/destination.php?id=160 You are always welcome to Kerala.

Vast paddy fields are beauteous to view. But in Kerala such paddy fields are decreasing in area or disappearing day by day. Agriculture which need utmost priority is neglected or not promoted to develop.

It's exactly the same happened wherever development overshadowed nature and its preservation. However I am sure at some point in time everyone will realize nature and infrastructure betterment have to coexist.I believe our government has already realized that.
